# I Have Made Some Decisions
Silence please, I have made some decisions. Based on the experiences in the recent writing crisis ([[03 - Schreibkrise]]) and the numerous starts, restarts, discussions, and reflections since starting to write a novel, I have made some decisions.
1. I will write “The Book That Heals the World” - no matter what.
2. In order to get into my writing mode, I will refrain from now on from any autobiographicas characters, especially protagonists.
3. I will use Jessica Brody’s Fast Drafting course and Save The Cat Writes a Novel as a Basis, and put Lisa Crohn into the background. Why? Because Lisa is fighting the propblem of not enough depth - which is a problem I do not have. Lisa, please don’t be upset. I have learned a ton from you and I will keep some of your advise in the back of my head. However, the queen of my writing is Jessica - because she helps me to actually get this done.
4. I will no longer work in tabels, checklists and so forth - I will write prose from day one.
5. I will work in english for this draft
So to get this party started, we will have ourselves a writing session feast. A wonderful session that will allow us to brainstorm, to write, to create, and we will have fun with it.
Because if there’s one fucking thing I know, it’s this:
It’s all an illusion. And if it’s all an illusion - I can as well have fun with it, and get it out there.
Enjoy.
So what will we do next? We will start with the [[Table of contents 🔄️]]

# A. Characters
For level 1, we’ll just brainstorm basic information and 5 details for all important characters.
**Protagonist**: [[Peter Pankratius Pek]]
**Antagonist:** [[Kaiuree ✅]]
**Nadlee’han B-Story**: [[1 • Projects/P • Das Buch/Floflake 01.0 - Act Level Draft - 2026-04/Lou]], [[Xandro ✅]], [[Peschbel ✅]], [[Godrin ✅]]
**Allist’han Partner:** [[Kathy ✅]]
Yey, it’s done! It’s actually suprising how much work it is to just put together this little brainstorms.. I wonder how I will ever be able to actually write a full novel ;-) But, step by step.
So, to continue with level 1, I have the choice between world and plot. And while I have already a lot of ideas about plot, I am currently really into world building, and I can’t wait to start to apply what I have learned in [[N. K. Jemisin]]‘s Master Class, so I will continue with [[B. World 🔄️]].

# Peter Pankratius Pek
> [!warning]+ Orange - Moderate Spoilers
Peter is 33 years old when the novel starts. Together with his girlfriend Kathy, he’s running a succesfull influencer business ([[TBD plattform]]) with the name \@wir_weltenwanderer. We’ll meet him on the island of [[Lanzarote]] and/or on his trip to [[La Graciosa]] where he needs to go because they are about to conclude a series of videos on remote islands that is payed by their wealthy customer [[Xavier Guide]], a somehow suspicious figure who has promised them a huge grant of 1 Million dollar to complete this series. His motives are somehow unclear, it’s obvious that he wants them to promote the idea of independent living, but he’s not asked for product placement and the like, so it’s really strange why he wants to pay such an amount of money just to finish this series.
What’s most **stereotypical** about him is that he’s a gay man who’s obsessed with his appearance and with sex. What’s most **stereotype breaking** is that he has a girlfriend, and that he is not interested at all in gay culture, fantasy, and promotes a purely **rational approach to everything** (which is kind of doomed to fail because he’s quite emotional, impulsive, and deeply loving, but he’s not aware of that).
So what do we know about Peter?
First, we know that **he’s very good looking** - and that is massively important to him. Why? Because he’s a former fat boy. As a child, he struggled with overweight and not being sporty, and he considers loosing his weight and getting in shape his biggest personal success. So while he’s even successfull with his influencing business (which combines travel, fitness, and couple content), he’s never satisfied with how he looks like and spends hours and hours training and optimizing his nutrition. ^35a20d
Next, we know that he’s **actually a gay man**. And, what’s most puzzling - this is not a secret to his girlfriend Kathy. They know each other for very, very long, and she’s actually the first person he has come out to. And to his suprise, she didn’t end the relationship - she actually said she always knew and she’s happy it’s now out there in the open. They have rules, though. He’s allowed to have sex with men - but only sex. And to control this, there are [[TBD Strict Relationship Rules]] He should love her - and have physical fun otherwise.
Third, we know that he has a **difficult relationship to his father and - which is connected - “The Neverending Story”.**
> [!danger]- Red – Major Spoiler
> So what’s the T? Well, [[Peter's Father]] committed suicide when Peter was 10 years old. And Peter blaims his father’s love for “The Neverending Story”, because his father was not only a fan, he was a devoted superfan. He was so much into “The Neverending Story” that he named his only child, Peter, with a 3 consonant name - Peter Pankratius Pek. Obviously, Peter hates this name and calls himself Luca as a nickname, trying to avoid any memory of this painful connection. He thinks that his father escaped into the fantasy world to an extent that he couldn’t return - and that he kind of lost his father to Phantasia.
>
> Forth, we know that Peter is undiagnosed (and unknowingly) neurodivergent, most notably **autistic**. (He’s actually **AuDHD** and **highly gifted**, because otherwise he wouldn’t have stayed unnoticed and undiagnosted). He knows that he’s different than the others, he’s kind of thinking about this all the time, but he explains it with other stuff - his past (father’s suicide, the also difficult relationship with his successful mother), the fact that he grew up gay in an environment that is not really gay friendly (his mother is a conservative business owner and family rights activist, TBD mother’s business mission), the fact that he’s gifted - and he also thinks that he is probably depressive and somehow damaged (but he avoided looking into this for ever).
So, the last detail to think about for Peter is the fact that he has **money issues**. And that he keeps them secret from Kathy, he keeps them secret even from himself, refusing to do the calculation. But that’s what makes him vulnerable to the strange offering from Xavier. And I somehow feel that the money issues are connected to his mother. We already know that his mother is a business woman, and it needs to be something conservative and arrogant, but also really cool. Perhaps his mother is a successful fashion designer, a bit like the lady in “The Devil wears Prada”. She has built a fashion empire, and she did this with rigor, cold blood, and a dismissive attitude towards all “weaklings” that just simmer in their problems. So naturally, she would detest Peters father for being a romantic and for having lost his fight with suicidal thoughts. And she would have wanted her son to be different. And so out of some twisted and toxic version of parental love, she refused for him to be her heir until he proved himself to be worthy. And that is much more interesting than simply money issues. Peter feels he can never be good enough for his mother, and he wants to prove to her that he’s a real entrepreneur who can make a fortune on his own. Because he thinks (while it’s not entirely true) that he wants to be her heir and run the fashion imperium. ([[TBD details of the deal with his mother]]).
With this, we ended Level 1 of Peter - and we’re ready to move on to the next character - this is [[Kaiuree ✅]].

# Kaiuree
> [!danger]- Red – Major Spoiler
>
>
> ![[Kaiuree Inspiration Plakat Stroke.jpg|300]]
>
> Kaiuree - or also called “The Kaiuree” is a goddess. Well, not really, because gods don’t exist, but she’s treated as one. For most of the story, she’s the Antagonist. She’s the only character apart from [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]] who is present in all levels of reality. In the Kaiuree’naos, she’s the system adminstrator of [[Peter Pankratius Pek]]’s brain. We might want to invent a better name for this, like ([[TBD better word for the system admin role in the brain]]). In [[Etral'han💭]], she’s seen as a goddess - but with a different story for each people: For the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]], she’s the goddess of wisdom and knowledge, knowing everything and connecting the dots, seeing the truth behind the noise. For the [[Species - Magox’i✅]], she’s the goddess of passion, fueling the world with love, adventure, excitement, and sparkle. For the [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]], she’s an evil goddess, the goddess of seduction and death and addiction and (TBD Untugend, TBD The positive god of the [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]]). And in the real world, she’s seen - by [[Peter Pankratius Pek]] - as the Childlike Empress in The Neverending Story, somehow representing his distored path from the purely positive character from a childhood novel towards the complex, difficult to grasp ways of an adult soul. As she’s within [[Peter Pankratius Pek]], her consciousness is 33 years old. However, as all system administrators, she possesses the propositional knowledge, the pure information, from all generations before, and so her information knowledge is millions of years old, formed in evolutionairy times.
>
> So what do we know [[About Me and My Work]] this strange character?
>
> First thing we know is **that she knows allmost everything, sees almost everything - but can’t really intervene**. That’s the tragic of her existence - she’s a Kassandra Figure. She grew up with allmost all the available information of thousands and thousands of generations, but she didn’t have the experiences, the consiousness, to use it. Then, when she grew up together with[[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]], her consiousness formed, and it was massively influenced by her inability to do something [[About Me and My Work]] Peters choices. She’s not entirely powerless, though. What she can do (similar to [[!🧭 Unmasking|ADHD]]) is to sabotage[[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]]’s dopamin and noadrenalin by emptying the reservoir, freeing the Cervézard, making him cranky, anxious, forgetful etc. She does so mostly when she’s depressed or angry or frustrated. Also, when she get’s Relt’ionin, she can do the opposite, strengthen the walls of the reservoir, and so help [[Peter Pankratius Pek]] to be focused, clear, and decisive. However, that’s not really a lot.
>
> Then, we know that over time, she has become **depressive, sarcastic, and hopeless.** She’s a good character at heart, as she has an obious interest in[[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]] thriving and being happy, as this fulfills her purpose. However, as [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]] is taking more and more wrong decisions and dealing in a not helpful way with his life events, she understood that her dreams, hopes and the potential of her entire existence are never going to bear fruits. And so she went down the route of sarcasm and bitterness. Most importantly, she lost the ability to be joyful. She also started smoking, drinking, and getting some develish fun out of making[[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]] do crazy mistakes. She like playing with him, because she’s incredibly bored by his life. With this, her goal changes to just survival and having a bit of dry and sarcastic fun with it. But then, in the moments when not all hope is lost, she thinks that if [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]] would face the harsh truth about his existence - his lonelyness - that this might turn things around. And that’s why she uses her powers to seduce him into reading “The Neverending Story”, experimenting with the name of the Childlike Empress, and eventually even allows him to enter [[Etral'han💭]] - something that is not supposed to happen and breaks all rules for brain system administrators. Her hope is that when he’s in [[Etral'han💭]], he will understand that he’s different - and that he might find friends, and relate based on his true self. But as the story passes, the Relat’ionin reservoir is drying out more and more, until she decides that it’s the best to die.
>
> A third detail we know about her is that **she is an ape.** More precisely, she’s a Mandrill like character, dressed in an olive green worker’s uniform, with colorful lines on her snout. We don’t really know why she is an ape, it’s a bit of a mystery. Most people’s system administrators are human shaped, but in Peters family, they are apes. Sometime in evolution, they took a detour, continuing the path of human evolution only partially, but keeping some characteristics of the close relatives of homo sapiens. There’s no real knowing why this happend, probably it’s just a game of nature. Chance. However, this has consequences - because as an Ape, she has less capabilites to administer Peters brain in the way it’s supposed to work. For example, she’s more impulsive than human shaped system administrators, and sometimes develops a develish and childlike joy in mischief and detours. She can also be quite erratic and forgetful, not tending to her business for weeks and months.
>
> Forth, we know that… oh wow, it’s really difficult to describe her because she’s such a strange character. Let’s think about it. How is it like to be a goddess while not having power at the same time. It would dist
>
> I had a technical problem with saving what I had written, so here’s a short summary of the main ideas:
>
> - She’s depressive and cynical because she can only intervene via the [[Relation’in✅]] reservoir
> - She’s an ape because of the evolutionairy detour
> - She wants to maniulate [[Peter Pankratius Pek]] into facing the truth because she hopes this will fill the [[Relation’in✅]] reservoir again. When this doens’t work, she wants to die
> - She’s seen as a godess in [[Etral'han💭]] - Wisdom (for [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]]), Passion (for [[Species - Magox’i✅]]) and Seduction/Lust (for [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]])

# Kathy
> [!warning]+ Orange - Moderate Spoilers
Kathy is a bit older than Peter because she is meant to be his safe place, and it needs to be believable that he is looking to her as a safe place in the world. They have known each other since school. She is about 35–36 years old when Peter is 33. She works as a freelance software engineer, a total tech nerd, and is the technical driving force behind their joint Instagram channel @wir_weltenwanderer while Peter is the creative director. She is visually stunning—perfect measurements, perfect skin—yet she does not care at all about her external appearance and masks only when necessary. Her authentic self is messy, wild hair, random clothes. She values autonomy, freedom, and control, has strong trust issues, and manages relationships through rational, almost contract-like rules. She is autistic but doesn’t know it. At the beginning of the story she is pregnant from Peter.
---
1. **Kathy and Peter met in school**
They were both the outlaws, different from everyone else. Kathy had returned from abroad at age 14 because her father was working as a diplomat. She had to repeat one school year due to the foreign school system, and Peter had jumped a year because he was gifted. So they ended up in the same class and could meet, which also explains why they are a bit more than two years apart.
2. **She stays with Peter although she knows he is gay**
The reason why she feels safe with a gay boyfriend is because she knows he will not leave her for another woman. She has been afraid all her life that she is not female enough or woman enough to satisfy the demands of a potential man. For her inner image she is non-typical female: masculine character traits, total nerd, loves digital stuff, scripts, software, efficiency boosts. Her choice to stay with Peter is entirely rational, not madly in love—she just likes him and feels safe.
3. **She has a strong autonomy value and control issues**
She wants to have a family but does not want a husband who controls her or asks anything from her that she doesn’t want. She is a bit like the girl from the Salander thrillers: crazy outcast energy, very radical about trust. She establishes clear rules like contracts and tests people by whether they uphold the contract or not. This is why the rule’s about Peters gay sex life are extremely strict for her—not because she cares emotionally, but because it is her proof that she can trust him not to leave or manipulate her. She wants total control; she is a control freak.
4. **The pregnancy and the broken trust**
At the beginning of the story she is pregnant from Peter. They basically don’t have sex at all, except maybe once a year when they get very drunk—possibly on her birthday. Usually she takes the pill for this. This year she didn’t take the pill and didn’t tell him. She broke Peter’s trust on purpose. She noticed he had something going on with another guy but didn’t confront him. In her strange worldview, she decided Peter needs to be punished and also she wants children. So she made a logical calculation to get pregnant.
5. **Their relationship contract and the fight**
They have something like a relationship contract, not written on paper but discussed clearly—a five-point contract that forms their relationship. Based on this agreement, him being the father means he needs to marry her. The fight happens when Peter finds out she is pregnant; she has to tell him. He sends her away and says he needs a break. That is why he goes to La Graciosa alone, and she only pretends to leave Lanzarote but actually stays because she hopes she will get over this.
> [!danger]- Red – Major Spoiler
> In the end, Kathy is the mother of [[The Twins]], [[Loucia]] and [[Alexandro]]. She’s a successful manager at an IT consultancy and lives with [[Vitrou]], her husband, [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]], her co-parent, [[John Pek|John]], his husband, and the children in [[Barcelona]].
Let’s move on to [[1 • Projects/P • Das Buch/Floflake 01.0 - Act Level Draft - 2026-04/Lou]]
---
# Lou
> [!warning]+ Orange - Moderate Spoilers
Lou is the [[B Story]] character in the novel—one of several, but the most important one.
She is an [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]] and functions as the character [[Peter Pankratius Pek]] meets at the beginning of the second act who helps him transform. Her species represents the autistic people in the symbolic structure of the fantasy world. She’s young, but not super young, around 25 in human terms.
Story-wise, she teaches [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]] the difference between subconscious [[masking]] (which he does constantly out of fear of being excluded if the real him becomes visible) and deliberate masking (which she practices intentionally and with full self-control).
Lou appears at first in a strange role: In the [[Thysi’een]], she works in [[Nadlee’sh]], doing service work for customers in the [[Lupag’on]], even though she is actually completely straightforward and authentic in her private life.
This reveals her ability to bend her authenticity voluntarily when needed. She is 150% direct, not a people pleaser at all, but she can intentionally take on a role if she decides to. She prioritizes happiness, autonomy, and freedom, seeks deep cross-species friendships, acts erratically from the outside because she is fast, smart, and rarely explains herself, and she later faces punishment in the [[Flor’een]] when the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]] are the dominant species because she has broken their rules.
Her appearance is slim, androgynous, boyish. In [[Nadlee’sh]] she wears black leather as part of her courtesan role; later she switches to the very simple, one-colored traditional clothing of her species.
She has unusual friendships with [[Xandro ✅]] ([[Species - Magox’i✅]]), [[Peschbel ✅]] ([[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall’i]]), and a difficult one with her twin brother [[Godrin ✅]] ([[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]]). Her relationship with [[Xandro ✅]] looks hostile from the outside but is actually a strange form of closeness. With [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]], the beginning is tense and confusing, and she is not pleased that [[Xandro ✅]] links [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]] to her during the ritual, but over time they develop a bond.
---
1. **Her deliberate vs. subconscious masking**
Lou appears completely authentic, but she can intentionally bend her authenticity when she chooses to, such as when she serves customers in [[Nadlee’sh]]. This is not subconscious masking; it is deliberate. She takes care of herself and her needs and plays a role only when she decides to. Her function for [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]] is to show him the contrast between his own involuntary masking and her fully intentional masking.
2. **Her unusual friendships with other species**
Unlike most [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]], who avoid unnecessary contact with members of other species and simply endure the Thysi’een until they are dominant again, Lou has strong bonds with [[Xandro ✅]] (Magox’i) and [[Peschbel ✅]] ([[Species - Ksall'i ✅]]). Growing up in a world with rigid hierarchies, she refuses the strategy of passively waiting through the [[Thysi’een]] and instead chooses integration, curiosity, and building friendships. She prioritizes happiness over resentment and wants genuine [[Connection]].
3. **Her extreme autonomy and erratic behavior**
Lou disappears frequently, has secret plans, and acts on conclusions without informing anyone. She is very smart and draws quick conclusions, then just does things because she thinks they are right. From her perspective, this is serving the common goal; for others it often feels erratic. This autonomy becomes a problem in the second part of the novel when she breaks the established [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]] rules and is punished. She is forced into a role she dislikes— a Guardian of sacred places—even though her true special interest is the science of the world’s magic: the [[Relation’in✅]]/[[Ekstion'in]] balance.
4. **Her special interest: the science of magic**
Every member of her species has a special research focus. Lou is deeply interested in science, specifically in understanding how the world’s magic works. In the first part of the novel, during the Thysi’een when [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]] cannot follow their [[Special Interests]], she works in [[Nadlee’sh]]. In the second part, she wants to return to her studies of magic but is forbidden as punishment and is sent to a training camp for Guardians instead.
5. **Her relationships: [[Xandro ✅]], [[Peschbel ✅]], and [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]]**
With [[Xandro ✅]], she is constantly annoyed and makes dismissive comments, so outsiders assume she dislikes him, but this is simply how she shows friendship—complete honesty, correction, sharing information, and often cleaning up his chaos. With [[Peschbel ✅]], they meet when [[Peschbel ✅]] wanders off from her tourist parents; they share a smoke, talk, and bond over being different from their respective societies. With [[Peter Pankratius Pek]], Lou is curious but also unsettles him. She dislikes his extreme masking. When [[Xandro ✅]] performs the ritual disconnecting [[Peter Pankratius Pek]] from the real world, Lou becomes his Connection partner, something she initially resents. Their relationship starts tense and reluctant but develops into a deeper understanding over time.
So let’s look at [[Xandro ✅]]
---
# Xandro
> [!warning]+ Orange - Moderate Spoilers
Xandro is a [[Species - Magox’i✅]] living in [[Nadlee’sh]] and functions as a B Story character in the novel. He owns and runs the [[Lupag’on]], a [[Spektakularium]] that is part bar, part theater, part pleasure-house, and part chaotic entertainment hub. He is a natural host—loud, smiling, charismatic, always standing outside calling in customers, and acting as master of ceremonies for shows and events. He is respected in the community because he is successful, good with people, and simply a nice guy. His age is vague, roughly early-to-mid 30s, but age is not particularly meaningful in this world. At the beginning of the story, he has no deep friendships, only loose camaraderie with many people; the only exception is an unspoken, unnamed bond with [[1 • Projects/P • Das Buch/Floflake 01.0 - Act Level Draft - 2026-04/Lou]], which he doesn’t fully trust or understand. Over the course of the story, he becomes a more tragic and lonely figure, revealing a deeper emotional emptiness, ADHD-like chaos, and a long-standing inability to ask for help. He steps into leadership when catastrophe arrives, driven by family knowledge of the [[Kaiuree ✅]] prophecy, but becomes increasingly frustrated as the quest becomes more serious. His kink for power dynamics and BDSM breaks the “friendly giant” stereotype: he is caring, but he misjudges situations and can unknowingly hurt people. In [[Flor’een]], when all [[Species - Magox’i✅]] sink into a depression-like season, he welcomes this because it mirrors his inner emptiness.
> [!danger]- Red – Major Spoiler
> [[1 • Projects/P • Das Buch/Floflake 01.0 - Act Level Draft - 2026-04/Lou]], [[Peschbel ✅]], and Peter help him out of this state, which is the first time anyone ever truly takes care of him.
---
> [!warning]+ Orange - Moderate Spoilers
1. **A charismatic leader of the [[Lupag’on]] ([[Spektakularium]])**
Xandro runs the [[Lupag’on]], a chaotic entertainment complex that mixes bar, theater, brothel, and spectacle. He is a natural showman and host, loud, smiling, and good at drawing crowds. He is respected because he is successful, energetic, and kind, and he has earned a place as a municipal-type leader in a community that lacks formal structure. He is also a great sales person, massively using the [[Nostri’con]] - which is the (TBD magical?) correlate to a social media network, and the way how the [[Nadlee’sh]] attract visitors from [[Ksall'han]].
2. **Superficial bonds, except an unnamed [[Connection]] with [[1 • Projects/P • Das Buch/Floflake 01.0 - Act Level Draft - 2026-04/Lou]]**
Xandro forms loose bonds easily—good for business, good for art, and good for entertainment—but he has no deep relationships at the start of the novel. With [[1 • Projects/P • Das Buch/Floflake 01.0 - Act Level Draft - 2026-04/Lou]], there is something unspoken: a bond he doesn’t fully trust and doesn’t understand. Their physical closeness from show performances creates a kind of situationship he overestimates because he is deeply lonely. With [[Peschbel ✅]] and [[Godrin ✅]], the bond comes later, and with [[Peter Pankratius Pek]] he first interacts as if [[Peter Pankratius Pek]] were a customer.
3. **A “shadow version” of [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]]: the danger of never showing vulnerability**
Xandro represents what happens when someone performs, entertains, and masks through charisma without ever addressing their inner wounds. He teaches [[Peter Pankratius Pek]] not through wisdom but through negative example: he is successful but hollow, surrounded by many but close to none, always avoiding vulnerability, never asking for help, and rushing over his own feelings. As the story progresses, he increasingly shows melancholy, frustration, and emotional emptiness.
4. **Prophecy knowledge, reluctant leadership, and emotional decline**
Although he is agnostic about mythology, Xandro comes from a family devoted to the [[Kaiuree ✅]] and grew up with shamans and priests. He knows the old prophecy and becomes the initial leader when catastrophe hits—he recruits [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]] and brings the group together. But as the quest becomes more serious, he becomes frustrated because his natural leadership style cannot handle complexity. In the second half, when all [[Species - Magox’i✅]] sink into a depression-like state, he accepts the half-sleep because it mirrors his lifelong loneliness.
> [!danger]- Red – Major Spoiler
> Being rescued by [[1 • Projects/P • Das Buch/Floflake 01.0 - Act Level Draft - 2026-04/Lou]], [[Peschbel ✅]], and [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]] is the first moment he experiences being cared for.
5. **Breaking the “friendly giant” stereotype through kink, danger, and misjudgment**
While he looks like the warm, noisy, lovable giant, Xandro has a deep interest in BDSM and power dynamics. He leans into intense experiences without much theory, and he sometimes misjudges situations, unintentionally hurting partners or leaving them insecure—not out of malice but from impulsiveness and poor boundary awareness. Beneath this lies genuine care and the yearning for closeness he doesn’t know how to ask for. By the end, he partially opens up emotionally, though the degree of healing is still uncertain.
Next, let’s work on the basics for [[Peschbel ✅]]
---
# Peschbel
> [!warning]+ Orange - Moderate Spoilers
Peschbel is a young [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] girl, perhaps 17 years old (if we assume human years, [[TBD age of species]]). She’s the daughter of one of the most powerful families in [[Ksall'han]] ([[TBD social hierarchies and power structure Ksall'han and Nadlee'han]] [[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall’i]]), but she doesn’t even think about following her parents wishes and learn what she’s supposed to learn to become the next generation of [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] Leader. As another B-Story Character (actually, we’ve got quite a lot of them but that’s ok, we want a group of friends to be the B-Story overall), Peschbel has the function of teaching Peter rebellion and emancipation. She’s also needed to demonstrate fearlessness and the courage to risk everything for what matters. And, she teaches him to let go of resources and critically reflecting priviledge.
In a way, although she’s definitely the youngest one in the whole cast, she’s kind of the wise mentor, representing a generation of people who challenge the status quo without making it an ego thing.
So, what do we know of her?
1. **Peschbel is queer - and deliberately so**. Peschbel has known from very early on that she’s different than the other [[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall'i]]. It started with her not playing with whatever [[Ksall'han]] nobility’s children are supposed to play with, she dresses differently, she listens to different music. Actually, as she’s so young, she hasn’t figured out the details of her queerness yet, but she doesn’t really care, because for her the sheer fact of being different and fighting for the rights of those who are is what matters. However, she grew up in a world where it’s very, very difficult to find out about other points of view, because it’s pretty regulated and conformist. So when she had the opportunity to go to [[Nadlee'han💭]] with her parents, she immediately grasped that this place is different. And while everyone around her just enjoyed the spectacular entertainment, she became curious - she bonded with actual [[Nadlee'i]], she discovered that there’s an [[Eidet'naos ✅]] with emancipatory thinking, she’s devoured the [[Nadlee'han💭]] experience. However, because she comes from outside, she has developed a more reflected and more deliberate perspective on the [[Nadlee'han💭]] culture than the [[Nadlee'i]] themselves, who have never known anything different and just live their “strange” island lifestyle without questioning it.
2. **Peschbel knows how to navigate in [[Ksall'han]] - and is able to make use of this abilites.** So when the [[shamrock]] travels to [[Ksall'han]], she becomes the guide and teacher of the group, connecting with other [[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall'i]], especially her cousin [[Frat'il]], and organizes resources to make it in the strange land. That means that she is very well able to perform her role as the heir to power, and that means that over time she might be torn apart beween her queer identity and group of friends on the one side and her family and her responsibility in [[Ksall'han]] on the other side.
3. **Peschbel will be the first big loss for the friend group when they return to [[Nadlee'han💭]] and drop of the boat**. She gets hit by a giant wave, falls into the water, and then the island shuts down, so that her friends do not know whether she survived and what happened to her. Her story will be unclear for a very long time,
> [!danger]- Red – Major Spoiler
> …. but I think I do want her to survive. I think what will happen to her is that she will be picked up by one of the attacking boats, and, due to an order of her parents, will be saved and brought back home. As Nadlee’han is no longer available to her, she will be forced to submit to her parents expectations, she simply doesn’t have any alternative. She tries to connect with other likeminded people on the [[Nostri’con]], but as [[Nadlee'han💭]] content dies out, she’s no longer feeling this network represents her values. This is the reason why she starts reading - and while the [[Eidet'naos ✅|Eidet’naos]] of [[Ksall'han]] are not nearly as intersting and exciting as those in [[Nadlee'han💭]], she still finds hidden stories and experiences of marginalized people. And so, while she officially lives the heir life with increasing responsibilites, she also starts a secret side carreer as a writer. This is how she reconnects with [[Nadlee'han💭]] in the end - she’s one of the people who enter the island via a story worth telling.
4. **Here’s what we know of her relationships:** Peschbel’s connection with [[1 • Projects/P • Das Buch/Floflake 01.0 - Act Level Draft - 2026-04/Lou]] is intensive, but not easy. Because of her deep interest and knowledge in emancipatory issues, she doesn’t like the BDSM relationships in the [[Lupag’on]] and the role [[1 • Projects/P • Das Buch/Floflake 01.0 - Act Level Draft - 2026-04/Lou]] is playing in these. So while she’s generally positively excited about Nadlee’han, she’s critical of the [[Lupag’on]]. Actually, her relationship with [[1 • Projects/P • Das Buch/Floflake 01.0 - Act Level Draft - 2026-04/Lou]] starts based on [[Peschbel ✅]] trying to save her from the (perceived) oppression by [[Xandro ✅]]. Over time, she learns the rules of this world and starts to connect with [[1 • Projects/P • Das Buch/Floflake 01.0 - Act Level Draft - 2026-04/Lou]] on a more equal eye level, and they become very close friends. With [[Xandro ✅]], it’s the other way around - as she sees him as the oppressor, she’s very distant and challenging with him, and at a later stage she will need to apologize. She might play an important role in his lonelyness, being the one listening to him, making him aware of his pain. With [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]], it’s different: As she’s naturally curious about foreign culture, the sheer fact that he’s from [[Allist'han✅]] is interesting and promising. So she approaches him with an open mind and lots of curiousity, encouraging him to be more courageous and daring. She will also massively argue in favor of him finding a different relationship with [[Kathy ✅]] as she immediately understands the power dynamics going on between these two.
5. **Her Arc**: Peschbel needs to learn that she can use power to make things better, and that radical opposition is not a viable option in a system like hers. She needs to accept that having the power to change the narrativ is a priviledge, and that she must use her resources to improve the life of others, even if this comes at personal costs. She will also find out that behind the surface, the [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] are less conformist than she thinks, and learn to love one of her kind. The time is not there to have an openly lesbian couple in power, but the time is there to at least accept a non married woman leading - and accepting that she has lovers of her chosing.
So, for a final character to think about in [[A. Characters ✅]], let’s talk about [[Godrin ✅]]
---
# Godrin
> [!warning]+ Orange - Moderate Spoilers
Godrin is a male [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]] and the twin brother of [[1 • Projects/P • Das Buch/Floflake 01.0 - Act Level Draft - 2026-04/Lou]]. He’s also 25 years old, but he’s very different from her. Where she fully submits to play her role in the [[Thysi’een]], he tries everything to back off - and he manages by working in an [[Eidet'naos ✅]], the only place that connects the [[Thysi’een]] and the [[Flor’een]] in [[Nadlee'han💭]]. He specializes in the study of knowledge and wisdom itself, and so he’s perfectyl aware of the differences in written lore, access to knowledge, and different types of texts, scriptures etc. As such, he’s a special character, as he’s pivotal in Peter’s A story AND his B-Story: For the external story, we need someone who can be the counterpart in discovering the lack of fictional storytelling and literature in [[Etral'han💭]], and that is Godrin. For the B Story, he’s his love interest and will teach him true connection.
What do we know of Godrin?
1. **Godrin is the core counterpart in the ‘Bad Guys Closing in’ - as he does not travel to [[Ksall'han]] with the others**: We might meet Godrin shortly in the beginning of the journey, however, he will not be with the group in the first half of the novel. Well, we might have [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]] think about him after he has seen him once - however, he only enters the scene after the [[Thysi’een]] ended, the [[Flor’een]] started, and the [[shamrock]] dissolved with [[Peschbel ✅]]‘s dissapearance, [[Xandro ✅]]’s fall into the [[Inermors’sigil]], and [[1 • Projects/P • Das Buch/Floflake 01.0 - Act Level Draft - 2026-04/Lou]]‘s punishment. He intervens when the (TBD powerful elders of the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]]) want to eliminate [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]], arguing that with his knowledge from [[Allist'han✅]], he might hold valuable insights to improve the [[Eidet'naos ✅]], allowing [[Nadlee'han💭]] to sustain the balance between [[Thysi’een]] and [[Flor’een]] better. They become closely connected, partners in trying to find the [[TBD The Book That Heals the World]] on [[Nadlee'han💭]], and lovers.
2. **Godrin is physically disabled**: With his disability, Godrin contrasts [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]]‘s concept of attractiveness. By building a relationship based on trust, honesty, caring love, friendship, and careful joy, Peter learns to not only open up but also to listen empathically, and to understand that relationships are not a miracle, but also something carefully nurtured and grown. Godrin’s disability makes sex difficult, and Peter needs to learn to accomodate Godrin’s needs to be able to connect with him. By doing so, he will learn to accept his own dissability, and start to replace wishful thinking and masking with authenticity, needs, boundaries, and structural, jointly buildt solutions.
3. **Godrin is critically aware of the dangers of the [[Nostri’con]]**: As a specialist for the [[Eidet'naos ✅]]’, an [[Eidet’arun]], he’s more aware than anybody else about the construction of reality via media, and therefore able to critically reflect the effects that the [[Nostri’con]] have for both [[Nadlee'han💭]] and [[Ksall'han]]. He’s therefore the one who is able to identify the role that the [[Nostri’con]] has in the destructive dynamic of the island, becoming an important ressource for change in the third act.
4. **Godrin is rather distant to [[1 • Projects/P • Das Buch/Floflake 01.0 - Act Level Draft - 2026-04/Lou]], and, as a consequence, [[Xandro ✅]] and [[Peschbel ✅]]**: As Godrin does not approve of the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]]‘s policy to accept the [[Thysi’een]] as an unchangable force of nature, he’s also critical of her way of dealing with [[Xandro ✅]] and the [[Lupag’on]]. He loves her as his sister, however, they do not get along very well due to their different ways of dealing with the state of the world. So, he doesn’t really know [[Xandro ✅]] and [[Peschbel ✅]], and he would be rather annoyed by [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]] if he wasn’t so attraced by him.
5. **When confronted with the truth about [[TBD The Book That Heals the World]], he is the only one who trusts the knowledge enough to argue in favor of following it.** Based on his conviction that wisdom is a force for change, he thinks that eating the fruit of [[Jezz'ir]] is actually worth trying - even at the risk of destroying [[Etral'han💭]] entirely.
Ok, that was our round through the most important characters on level 1. We’re still missing some other characters, but I think for this first round, we’re good.
And so it’s time to return to [[A. Characters ✅]]

## **Macro Level - Worlds and Planets**
> [!done]+ Green – No Spoilers
The story leads us through different worlds. Each of these has their own laws, dynamics, and characteristics. I will use the names in the language of [[Etral'han💭]] where most of the story takes place. In a later stage, I will invest in detailing out the worlds in a way so they are aligned with current neuroscience and philosophy of mind research.
### [[Allist'han✅]]
This is the real world as the readers know it. We’re on planet Earth, in more or less current times (early 21st century), and more specifically on the Canary Island of [[La Graciosa]], a small, vulcanic island with ~600 inhabitants.
### [[Etral'han💭]]
This is the world Peter enters when he stumbles into his version of “The Neverending Story”. In the story, Peter expects it to be a phantastic world of imagination, comparable to [[Phantásien|Phantasia]] in [[Die unendliche Geschichte|The Neverending Story]].
However, in difference to [[Phantásien|Phantasia]], this world seems to be quite limited - it only consists of one huge continent, [[Ksall'han]], and one island, [[Nadlee'han💭]], located around 100 km away from the continent in the [[Spectra’vael]], a particularily heavy sea that is difficult to navigate on ship due to storms and heavy weather, underground rocks, and mysterious stories about living rocks that are known for occasionally devouring whole ships. The rest of the continent is covered by ocean and unknown to the inhabitants, because there’s no need for open water ships due to the lack of possible places to go. [[Nadlee'han💭]] is accepted to be the only existing island large enough to be inhabitated.
> [!danger]- Red – Major Spoiler
> Later, we learn that this is not true - there are actually a lot of other islands, small and big. So while [[Ksall'han]] is in fact the only continent, only around 80% of [[Etral'han💭]]‘s population lives there, the other 20% live scattered around many, many small islands that are completely autark from the continent, some of them even from each other, others having small scale trade and interaction. This island world is called [[Mond'îles]], a term we learn from the [[Kaiuree ✅]]. Also, [[Etral'han💭]] is not an imaginary product of pure imagination, but actually another level of reality that is mirroing [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]]’s consciousness - with [[Nadlee'han💭]] mirroing himself and his inner world, [[Ksall'han]] representing his perception of the world around him, and [[Mond'îles]] representing his subconscious knowledge of other autistic people in the world.
>
> So, we’re actually speaking about a real world, not fantasy. Just real in another sense - in the sense that every consciousness in the world carries an own world within it that is not symbolic, but a real representation of consciousness. As a consequence, this can be seen as some sort of parallel universe (comparable to the hypothesis of multiverses that ultimately root in mathematical structures) that actually exist - and that are both seperate (as they originate in individual consciousnesses) and connected (as they represent each other in the perception of other beings).
>
> In a way, we could say that [[Etral'han💭]] is located *in* [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]]‘s brain (in the sense that it is a product of his own consciousness), however, we could also say that he is in a parallel universe that exists because his consciousness exists in our realit, i.e., [[Allist'han✅]]
>
> ### [[Kaiur'naos]]
> This is the world that Peter enters when he eats the fruits of the [[Jezz'ir]] plant, thereby destroying [[Etral'han💭]] - as he believes, for good. What actually happens is that eating from the plant breaks the reality constructing mechanis of [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]]’s brain. So now, his consciousness in the normal sense not only switches into another mode (the one where he is IN it, i.e., in [[Etral'han💭]]), but he’s actually outside of his consciousness. As a consequnce, he is confronted with his actual brain - and that is the place, that is called [[Kaiur'naos]]. As in this world there’s no consciousness, no perception, no sensual environment, it would be pretty boring for the story. So in order for him to be able to sense and interact with this world, his brain runs some sort of resque program that simulates a minimal consciousness where he can actually be in his brain with a corporal representation. As a consequence, the [[Kaiur'naos]] consists of a system of caves and tunnels that are looking like the inside of neurons and neuronal connections. From the visitor’s perspective, this looks a bit like walking through a huge bionic structure, with grey whitish substance around him, and light signals firing through the walls. In the area of the brain that coordinates brain functions ([[TBD Reserach coordinative area of the brain]]), he meets the [[Kaiuree ✅]] - a depressive speaking ape who is the system administrator of his brain. The [[Kaiuree ✅]] sits in a steering central that consists of monitors that play sensory perceptions (i.e., a visual monitor that shows what [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]] sees, an auditory monitor that plays the sounds he hears and so forth), and also can replay memories (i.e., the [[Kaiuree ✅]] can play immersive ‘videos’ to show [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]] specific events from his past). Also, some vital elements of the brain are represented by other creatures, e.g., the [[Cervézard]], highly impulsive lizards that swarm out from the brain stem when Peter experiences existential emotions and are controlled by the [[Kaiuree ✅]] to avoid them entering the prefrontal cortext, using a mechanism [[TBD Mechanism or Force that is Dopamin fueled to control the Cervezard]] that is fueled by Dopamin, or - as it’s called in [[Etral'han💭]], [[Relation’in✅]].
>
> **The Architecture of the Worlds is already generally compatible with current neuroscience and philosophy of mind positions, howver, when fleshing it out I need to be more precise and map different elements of the world concepts to actual research results and/or theories. See [[ChatGPT Analysis of 3 World Model from a Neuroscience of Consciousness perspective]] and the resulting [[ChatGPT Workplan to create a detailed neuroscience aligned world building]]
## Meso Level - Areas and Places
> [!done]+ Green – No Spoilers
### Allist’han
The only place in [[Allist'han✅]] where actual plot takes place is [[La Graciosa]], and, closely related, [[Lanzarote]]. For the story, we will need the rough sea between [[La Orzola]] and [[Caleta del Sebo]] - as this is the only shipping route and it can easily be disconnected by high waves and difficult winds, the city of [[Caleta del Sebo]] with a small [[AirBnB in Caleta del Sebo✅]], one [[TBD local restaurant in Caleta del Sebo]], and the hiking paths towards [[Playa de las Conchas]] and [[Playa Montana Colorada]]. In the end, [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]] will also spend some time in the [[TBD Hospital of Arrecife]].
In the backstory, we will also have childhood and early adulthood memories of [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]]. As [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]]‘s [[Peter's Mother|Mother]] founded her own fashion business, she actually changed cities quite often, and for the most important part of [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]]’s childhood, they were living in [[Paris]]. As [[Peter's Father]], she originally comes from a middle sized town in Germany, probably something like Bottrop or Friedrichshafen. [[TBD Childhood Home Town of Peter's Parents]] This is also where [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]] grew up until he was 10 years old.
### [[Etral'han💭]]
This is the main location of the story, and so we will need a lot of places.
#### [[Nadlee'han💭]]
The island where [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]] arrives. It’s relatively small, around the size of Lanzarote, so 800-1000 km². It’s located around 100 km from [[Ksall'han]] in the landmark cut that is the [[Spectra’vael]] sea, surrounded by a huge gulf, the [[Spectra’vael]] gulf, a bit north of the equator, with a general climate comparable to the canary islands.
> [!warning]- moderate spoiler
> [[Nadlee'han💭]] is geologically different from [[Ksall'han]], as it’s a product of magic. Details will be developed in [[Science and Magic 💭]]
There is one city, [[Nadlee’sh]], which is the capital and the main harbour. It is large enough to be a major travel destination for the [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]], but small enough to still feel overseeable by a relatively informal governance structure, so we are speaking between 15.000 and 80.000 inhabitants, probably on the lower end, because it should be believable that [[Xandro ✅]] is both a business owner with active responsibilities and the informal head of the city (though probably not alone). Also, the travel to the bigger cities of [[Ksall'han]] should feel adventorous because they are bigger.
The city is surrounded by a rain forest, the [[Abyssno’sh✅]], that covers the island almost entirely and is deep, wild, and full of secrets. In it’s margins, close to [[Nadlee’sh]] center, it’s home to the treehouse suburbs of the capital where the [[Species - Magox’i✅]] live. [[Xandro ✅]] lives in the tree house [[Nidar’a]]. The city itself consists mainly of touristic infrastructure and cheap dewellings for the hard working [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]], most of them integrated into the touristic buildings (in cellars, roofs, sometimes even as temporary homes on stages, in restaurants and the like when they are not in use).
Within the [[Abyssno’sh✅]], there are a huge number of small caves, tree houses, simple huts, and other places where the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]] live during [[Flor’een]]. They are vacated during [[Thysi’een]]. Also within the [[Abyssno’sh✅]], there’s the [[Kaiur'naos|Kaiur’naos]], an ancient temple for the ape god [[Kaiuree ✅]], and within it there’s the [[Jezz'ir]] - a sacred plant.
During [[Flor’een]], the forest becomes the center of [[Nadlee'han💭]], with the nature of the island subtly supporting the life of the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]] - glowing plants, nutritous fruits, … whatever is needed to allow the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]] to live comfortably without any work that needs to be done, not on a luxurious level, but comfortably and save.
Another pecuiliar element of [[Nadlee'han💭]] are the [[Eidet'naos ✅]]: 17 high buildings of varying design that are distributed all over the islands - with one of them in [[Nadlee’sh]], and the others equally distributed, both at the coast and in the forest. These buildings are suprisingly large and don’t really fit the vacation island atmosphere. Also, they are the only places in [[Nadlee'han💭]] that are valued both by the [[Species - Magox’i✅]] and the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]], and the only places that are open and running both in [[Thysi’een]] and in [[Flor’een]], with the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]] occupying the role of [[Eidet’arun]], those who take care of these sacred places.
> [!danger]- Red – Major Spoiler
> Finally, we got the [[TBD self protection mechanism of Nadlee'han]], a natural phenomenon connected to the island’s magic. In [[Thysi’een]], [[Nadlee'han💭]] seems to be an ordinary island. However, in [[Flor’een]], the island “shuts down”, i.e. is enclosed by a gigantic structure that looks like a shell of a gigantic mussel.
#### [[Ksall'han]]
The continent that covers around 40% of the surface are of [[Etral'han💭]]. Located across the equator, with a higher share of the landmass in the northern hemisphere, it is a massive landmass that has all climate zones from polar regions in the north to deserts around the equator.
The continent looks similar to a smaller version of Europe & Africa, more specifically like the whole of Europe (but without the smaller seas) plus the northern part of Africa up to the level of Tansania. As it is such a gigantic landmass, it’s inner areas are very dry, and centers of life exist mostly in the area around up to 200 km from the sea all around the continent. The continent is cut by a massive mountain range, the [[Thalan’oruun]] from south-west to north-east like a sacred spine, with it’s highest mountains going up to 12.000 m above sea level. In the [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] religion, these mountains are seen as the throne of their god [[Thaksir]].
Coming from [[Nadlee'han💭]], we first arrive in a busy harbor city, [[Sallivar]]. It is quite big, definitely more than 100,000 inhabitants. It is quite interregional which means that the people from a lot of different regents of the continent live there. It’s also the city where the annual [[Salivar Convent]] gathers, a massive event that convenes delegates from all [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] family bloodlines to deliberate laws and societal affairs. It has a strategic position as it’s the only major city that has land routes to both halfs of the continent. Here, the scenes close to the midpoint take place.
As the [[Thalan’oruun]] divides [[Ksall'han]], we will find two entirely different macro regions:
##### [[Thalan'sir]]
The northern macro-region of Ksall’han. Considered the cultural and political heart of the Ksallist’i empire, it is seen as the territory “under Thaksir’s gaze” — the land most aligned with order, clarity, and structured civilization. Wealthy, technologically advanced, bigger, and highly interconnected.
##### [[Hal’thalan]]
The southern macro-region of Ksall’han. Characterized by warmer climates, older settlement patterns, and more difficult travel routes, Hal’thalan is regarded as “the land where the god rests” — a quieter, more ancient, smaller, and culturally layered domain that nourishes the empire spiritually and materially.
For the story, we need a journey from [[Sallivar]] through [[Ksall'han]] and back to [[Sallivar]] that makes sense both story wise and in terms of geography. For now, let’s just create 2-3 other locations without fixing the details of order and mode of transportation:
There definitely needs to be a place that is connected to knowledge, spirituality, and wisdom, similar to an [[Eidet'naos ✅|Eidet’naos]] on [[Nadlee'han💭]]. As the [[shamrock]] will meet [[Frat'il]] there, it will be connected to some sort of order, caste or fraction of society that is fighting for more influence [[Thirak’arin]]. This place would be connected with order, light and law, and feel they are the true followers of [[Thaksir]], so the entrance gate will most likely be in the northern part, far to the East, but not at the sea, more close to the [[Thalan’oruun]]. I’m thinking of a huge stone portal, like a fortress, leading into a system of caves that are facing south. As the Southern Walls of the mountains are extremely steep, there’s no way to enter this place from [[Hal’thalan]], you need to take the north route via the Portal. This place is called [[Thirakon]].
Then, we need the actual center of power for the country, the place where [[Peschbel ✅]] grew up.
##### Lethan’or
Around 180 km south of [[Sallivar]] lies the coastal city of [[Lethan’or]], the historical seat of the powerful merchant dynasty known as [[House Lethan’arin]]. Although significantly smaller than Sallivar, Lethan’or is one of the wealthiest cities of [[Hal’thalan]] and serves as a major hub for southern trade routes. Its warm coastal climate, ancient architecture, and long-standing connections to distant markets give it a distinctly open and cosmopolitan atmosphere, unusual for a region often perceived as conservative and inward-looking.
Lethan’or’s influence derives almost entirely from the [[House Lethan’arin|Lethan'arin]], a dynasty that has shaped the city for centuries - [[Peschbel ✅]]‘s family. While the economic power of the family is unquestioned, they are viewed with cultural suspicion by more purist factions in [[Thalan'sir]], who consider [[Hal’thalan]] inherently less aligned with strict [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] values. This tension becomes politically important because the [[House Lethan’arin|Lethan'arin]] are considerably more liberal and outward-facing than many other [[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall'i]] families, maintaining a quiet but persistent interest in ideas, art, and spiritual currents beyond the dominant northern ideology.
##### Lethan’naos
At the heart of Lethan’or stands [[Lethan’naos]], the ancestral estate of House [[House Lethan’arin|Lethan’arin]]. Both palace and sanctuary, the estate serves as the ceremonial and administrative center of the family’s extensive trading empire. Its name reflects the family’s unique spiritual heritage: unlike most Ksallist’i noble houses, the Lethan’arin maintain a syncretistic tradition that honors both [[Thaksir]] and [[Kaiuree ✅]]. A small, discreet shrine to Kaiuree is rumored to exist within the inner chambers of Lethan’naos—an open secret treated with silence rather than denial.
This dual reverence shapes the family’s worldview and explains why the Lethan’arin maintain long-standing ties to [[Nadlee'han💭]], sometimes visiting the island not only for leisure but also for access to the [[Kaiuree'naos]]. Their openness to Nadlee’han and its culture stands in stark contrast to the northern order centered around [[Thirakon]], a faction that seeks to consolidate political and theological power under a stricter monotheistic interpretation of [[Thaksir]].
As the ideological divide between north and south intensifies, families like the Lethan’arin experience increasing pressure to assimilate to northern norms in order to preserve influence within the empire. This tension forms the backdrop for [[Peschbel ✅]]’s upbringing: a childhood shaped by privilege and cultural openness, but overshadowed by her parents’ gradual alignment with Thirakon’s expectations—a shift that both distances them from their roots and alienates their heir.
Then, we have 2 other locations on the continent:
> [!danger]- Major Spoiler
>
> ##### The Hidden [[Caldera of Thalan’oruun]]
>
> Deep within the far eastern ranges of the [[Thalan’oruun]] lies a vast, inaccessible caldera, surrounded on all sides by some of the highest and most jagged peaks of the continent. This basin is so thoroughly enclosed by the mountain spine that no known pass leads into it; the terrain effectively seals it off from the rest of [[Ksall'han]]. Its existence is acknowledged only through fragmented early travel notes and a handful of ancient [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] exploration attempts, all of which were eventually suppressed or classified. The knowledge is deliberately hidden by the [[Thirak’arin]], because it’s opposing to their desired social order.
>
> Archaeological fragments taken from early expeditions indicate that the caldera once hosted an ancient civilisation—far older than the Ksall’i empire, and culturally distinct from all known peoples. Structural remains and artistic motifs suggest that this civilisation belonged not to a different species, but to a [[single ancestral people]] whose internal diversity was much broader than current Ksall’i doctrine allows. Later cultures would reinterpret this diversity as evidence of separate species, giving rise to the modern belief that the [[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall’i]], [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]], and [[Species - Magox’i✅]] are fundamentally different kinds of beings.
>
> In reality, the [[single ancestral people|caldera civilisation]] is the evolutionary root of all three groups: a single species with multiple cognitive and cultural expressions. This insight, if widely known, would undermine core imperial narratives about hierarchy, purity, and the impossibility of interbreeding between the three peoples. For this reason, access to the [[Caldera of Thalan’oruun|eastern Thalan’oruun]] has been tightly restricted for centuries, particularly by the order based in [[Thirakon]].
>
> Despite the secrecy, the caldera plays a major role in contemporary myths surrounding a legendary book of insight. Many factions, including scholars, explorers, and political actors, believe the lost text is connected to the ruins hidden there. This assumption—fueled by partial clues and misinterpreted signs—drives the central quest on the continent. However, the caldera is ultimately a geographical and historical false lead: the true location of the book is on [[Nadlee'han💭]], whose inner world and neurodivergent symbolism echo the deeper truths of the ancestral species.
>
> As a physical location, the Hidden Caldera is therefore significant not only for its dramatic geography, but as the silent anchor point of the world’s suppressed origin story. It is both a literal and symbolic void in the map of [[Ksall'han]]—an empty place whose absence shapes the ideological landscape of the entire continent.
>
> ##### [[Silar’thon]]
> On the northern cliffs beyond [[Sallivar]] lies [[Silar’thon]], a coastal engineering complex maintained by the northern [[Thirak’arin]] of [[Thirakon]]. Officially, the site exists to study tides, currents, ship stability, and coastal architecture. > In reality, Silar’thon houses a range of experimental “order devices” originally developed for civil stabilization: [[TBD technology that can be weaponized]] None of these tools are classified as weapons, but they can be mounted quickly onto large merchant vessels.

# 🏝 Beschreibung
---

# Eidet’naos
17 high buildings of varying design that are distributed all over the islands - with one of them in [[Nadlee’sh]], and the others equally distributed, both at the coast and in the forest.
[[Eidet'naos ✅|Eidet’naos]] are places of research, knowledge collection, and deliberation. They combine the functions of a library, a university, a monastry, and a school. They have been built and are run by the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] as places that are dedicated for their [[Eidet'elu✅]]s. In [[Flor’een|Flor'een]], this is where most of [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] life takes place. In [[Thysi’een]], the sitation is different. The [[Species - Magox’i✅]] keep the [[Eidet'naos ✅|Eidet’naos]] open, because they are attractive to some of the [[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall'i]] visitors who want to read, learn, and observe beyond the possibilites of the [[Lupag’on]] and the [[Spektakularium]]. The respective [[Eidet’arun]] are allowed to stay in their role, however, they will need to report to a [[Species - Magox’i✅]] oficially running the place and focus more on customer service and teaching in this time.
For the [[Species - Magox’i✅]], these places are somewhat ambivalent. While they value them as a product that helps to attract customers, they are also highly sceptical, sometimes even dismissive, of the concentration and discipline in these places. Often, when taking over leadership over their respective [[Eidet'naos ✅|Eidet’naos]], they will complain about how boring it is and bring colorful decoration, ask the [[Eidet’arun]] to organize parties and events for the visitors, and repurpose the whole place. Because of their scepticism, they will usually avoid visiting themselves, allowing the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] to keep secrets and hiding places within the [[Eidet'naos ✅|Eidet’naos]] that allow them to recover or meet in silence when [[Thysi’een]] gets too overwhelming.

# Cultures and Species
First, let’s create a structured overview of all cultures and species, and then decide which of these we’ll explore in level 1 (marked with emoji). To make things easier, we’ll do a current time snapshot (beginning of the novel), and then add historical species at the end.
## [[Allist'han✅]]
There’s one humanoid species: [[Species - Humans ✅]] on [[Allist'han✅]]
## [[Etral'han💭]]
There are 3 humanoid species: [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]], [[Species - Magox’i✅]] und [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]] on [[Etral'han💭]].
Despite major differences, they share some features that allow them to interact and influence each other: They are of comparable physical size and general shape, including brain size, they share general biological characteristics like being mammals with bigender sexual reproduction, and they use voice and language as fundamental means of communication. They even share some basic cultural traits, especially the use of written books to store and transmit information. As there’s a universal language spoken across the world, they can communicate with each other.
The species do not interbred, there are no known cases of hybrids (although sometimes the idea of hybrids is used in gossip, mythology, and propaganda). They live in 2 distinct physical locations: While [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] live in the continent of [[Ksall'han]], [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]] and [[Species - Magox’i✅]] share the island of [[Nadlee'han💭]] as habitat.
As far as historically known, there have been no major attempts of [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] to settle on [[Nadlee'han💭]] and vice versa. This arrangement is solidified by a carefully balanced arrangement between the species with the [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] using [[Nadlee'han💭]] as temporary travel destination for entertainment and (partially) religious purposes, and the [[Nadlee'i]] refraining from travel to the continent for lack of interest, means of transportation, and a long standing tradition to label the continent as dangerous.
The relationship between [[Nadlee'i]] and [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] can be described as transactional and distant, a more or less peaceful coexistence with limited, transactional cooperation and, on a deeper level, mutual disinterest and latent contempt, fueled by fundamental reciprocal incomprehension.

# Species - Humans ✅
Humans, or [[Species - Humans ✅|Salv'alli]] in the [[Etral'han💭|Etral’han]] language, are a highly social species whose evolutionary success comes from living, thinking, and surviving in groups. Over hundreds of thousands of years they developed complex language, shared attention, cumulative knowledge, and the cognitive flexibility to cooperate far beyond kinship. This ability to collaborate at scale allowed them to adapt to almost every climate zone on Earth, expand into diverse cultures, and build civilizations far more intricate than any other species has achieved.
Human cultures differ widely, yet many contemporary societies are shaped by a specific cluster of psychological patterns described as WEIRD (Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, Democratic). These cultures value individualism, abstract reason, personal autonomy, and self-expression, while often underestimating the role of community, interdependence, and collective obligation. Hierarchies between dominant global powers and marginalized communities define much of human history: technologically advanced nations expand, exploit, or overwrite smaller cultures, while local societies with strong cohesion and tradition struggle to retain autonomy. Across all of this lies a deep tension between diversity—which is biologically key to human survival—and the human tendency toward in-group preference, suspicion of strangers, and mistrust of those whose cues do not match expected social patterns.
A particular paradox within the human species is the evolutionary role of neurodivergence. The human brain developed not as a single uniform design, but as a range of specialized cognitive styles—subtypes that together increased group survival. Two of these styles, described in modern research as autism and ADHD, are especially central to the human story. Autistic cognition prioritizes pattern recognition, deep focus, innovation, and the transmission of knowledge; these traits are likely foundational for the technological and cultural breakthroughs that allowed humans to exceed the limits of their environments. Many of the most influential inventions and global companies of the 21st century were created by people widely understood to be autistic, reflecting this long-standing evolutionary contribution. ADHD brings a complementary set of advantages: rapid responsiveness, flexible attention, creativity, and an ability to explore new options quickly. In ancestral contexts, these traits supported foraging efficiency, crisis response, artistic and spiritual roles, and the adaptability needed in unstable environments. Yet both groups face significant disadvantages in modern societies, where social norms and institutional structures often devalue the very traits that once enabled human flourishing. Alongside them stands the socially constructed category of “neurotypical”—not a true neurological type, but a culturally defined norm that elevates conformity while stigmatizing cognitive difference. This creates a deep contradiction within the species: the diversity that ensured human survival is the same diversity many human cultures attempt to suppress.
A central element of the human condition is that the mind cannot directly perceive its own processes. Humans experience thoughts and emotions but do not have access to the mechanisms that generate them. As a result, they constantly construct explanations—stories—to make sense of themselves and others. These narratives are not luxuries but neurological necessities: they organize memory, teach lessons, create identity, transmit culture, and build connection. Storytelling is the primary tool through which humans preserve knowledge across generations, resolve uncertainty, and shape collective meaning. Yet stories are also a source of distortion: they can justify violence, rationalize injustice, or lock people into false beliefs about worth, identity, and belonging.
Humans are capable of extraordinary empathy, but also of remarkable harm. Throughout history they have destroyed ecosystems, hunted species to extinction, conquered continents, and reshaped the planet to suit their needs. Many dominant cultures celebrate strength, power, ambition, and competition, often disguising aggression as progress. This gives humans a paradoxical self-image: they see themselves as kind, rational, and cooperative, while overlooking the predatory patterns woven deeply into their past and present.
Driven by intelligence, technology, and cumulative knowledge, humans build systems more complex than any individual can fully comprehend—nations, economies, networks, and now artificial intelligence. Their social groups expand from families to tribes, cities, empires, and planetary alliances, and their scientific ambition reaches toward space. Yet the more these systems grow, the more humans struggle with disconnection, loneliness, and the feeling of being out of place in the very worlds they have created.
In essence, humans are a species built on connection and narrative: they survive because they cooperate, they understand themselves through the stories they tell, and they repeatedly lose and rediscover each other within the ever-expanding structures born from their own minds.
The human species is also repeatedly endangered by viruses that jump from animals to humans; in the very time this story begins (2020), a global outbreak of such a virus—COVID-19—forced societies into sudden isolation and disrupted nearly every form of connection.

# Culture - Expats and Internationals ✅
## Culture - Expats and Internationals ✅
The Expats and Internationals of Allist’han form a global, mobile culture shaped by a long historical shift. What began as an elite sphere of diplomats and high-level business families in the late 20th century expanded in the 21st into a broader, more diverse group of students, freelancers, creators, and remote workers. This expansion created a quiet class divide: the old expat elite move through the world with inherited stability, multilingual confidence, business-class travel, and access to international schools, while the newer generation live in Airbnbs and shared flats, fly budget airlines, think and speak almost exclusively in English, and drift between places without ever fully arriving.
Although the culture publicly celebrates freedom, autonomy, diversity, and global openness, these values often mask underlying tensions. A fringe but influential subgroup embraces a radical post-national ideology—seeing states as outdated and dreaming of private islands, floating cities, and borderless societies. Under the polished surface of liberal cosmopolitanism, colonial patterns persist: status hierarchies, economic gatekeeping, and subtle dismissiveness toward those who cannot afford the lifestyle.
Relationships in this culture split into two fragile channels. Online connections can become intimate but remain physically distant, while local bonds form quickly and fade just as fast whenever someone relocates. Because deep attachment is rare, people often cling tightly once they find connection, tolerating unhealthy dynamics and hiding loneliness under constant friendliness. Drifting apart is common; conflicts are avoided; disappearance is easier than confrontation.
A second generational divide runs through families. Parents, who once left rooted national lives, experience the international lifestyle as liberation. Their children, raised in global mobility, often feel unanchored, struggling with belonging and craving stability. For many of them, difficulties forming friendships are explained away as the natural result of frequent moves—one reason why neurodivergence in people like Peter and Kathy remains undiagnosed.

# Culture - Ruhr, Germany, Early 1980s ✅
## Culture - Ruhr, Germany, Early 1980s ✅
Peter’s parents come from the Ruhr area of the early 1980s, shaped by two very different microcultures that collided in their teenage years. His father grew up in a lower-to-middle-middle-class engineering household on the outskirts of Bottrop. His grandfather was a technical specialist in the mining industry, proud of rationality, stability, and “real work,” and his grandmother embodied the orderly housewife ideal of the previous generation. Their home was modest, respectable, and emotionally restrained: a neat Reihenhaus where imagination was tolerated only if it stayed harmless and practical. Sensitivity and creativity were seen as indulgent, and books were valued for knowledge, not escape.
The father, a gifted and unusually sensitive child in a pragmatic environment, found oxygen only at school. He attended a strong academic Gymnasium—one of the respected local “elite” public schools—where he finally encountered literature, philosophy, and teachers who encouraged reading. When The Neverending Story appeared in 1982, it hit him at the perfect moment: he was around 17, hungry for a world larger than the one he came from, and the novel became both an emotional refuge and a map of meaning. He tried to write himself, drifted toward literature and the arts, and gradually broke away from the life his parents envisioned.
Peter’s mother entered this same school as the new girl from an international, wealthy background. She had lived abroad due to her parents’ business or diplomatic work and carried the cosmopolitan confidence of the global elite. In the down-to-earth Ruhr context she seemed sophisticated, slightly aloof, intensely ambitious. She and Peter’s father bonded quickly over books and ideas, but in different ways: for him, literature was a lifeline; for her, a tool of upward mobility. Their romance was intense, idealistic, and brief—powered by the hunger of two young people trying to escape the worlds they came from for entirely different reasons.
This mixed cultural origin—engineering pragmatism on one side, international elite ambition on the other—created the fractured foundation of Peter’s childhood and shaped the tensions that define his adult life.

# Culture - Lanzarote & La Graciosa around 2020 ✅
## Culture - Lanzarote & La Graciosa around 2020 ✅
Lanzarote and La Graciosa form a small, wind-shaped island world where volcanic stone, whitewashed houses, and an almost rainless climate set the rhythm of life. The ferry from Órzola to La Graciosa looks short on the map but can feel like a threshold crossing: rough Atlantic waves, strong winds, and a sense that the island is never fully guaranteed to be reachable. Arriving in Caleta del Sebo means stepping into a village of sandy streets instead of pavements, a place where cars are rare but Jeeps and mountain bikes are everywhere. Visitors quickly notice the bike rental shops—brightly advertised, always busy—because cycling is the main way tourists explore the beaches, cliffs, and raw landscapes.
The architecture is low and minimalistic: white cubes with blue doors, flat roofs, and sun-bleached edges. Life clusters around the harbor and a network of simple bars and restaurants. Traditional fish places coexist with more casual spots, and a sandy mini-square slightly inland becomes a nightly gathering point for younger visitors—burger stands, plastic chairs, loud chatter, and an easygoing atmosphere Peter would gravitate toward. Social norms are relaxed but clear: be polite, don’t rush, keep noise low, and respect that locals live at a slower pace.
The island hardly sees rain—maybe a day or two each winter—and the sky is almost always clear. The dryness gives everything a sense of permanence and impermanence at once: harsh nature, fragile buildings, and landscapes that feel untouched. Even small celebrations become striking against this backdrop. One of the island’s most surreal annual moments is the arrival of the Three Holy Kings around January 6th—actors dressed in royal costumes disembarking from the ferry as if entering from another world, watched by surfers, families, and tourists in flip-flops.
Tourism and expat culture blend with local life in subtle ways. Many Airbnbs and renovated houses are owned by Germans, Brits, or other internationals who first came as visitors and stayed. Others belong to long-established island families who know each other well and maintain dense social networks across Lanzarote and La Graciosa. As a result, news travels fast. Airbnb hosts often recognize visitors from their online profiles or from casual discussions with friends; it wouldn’t be unusual for locals to already know why someone is visiting, what kind of content they produce, or even whether a couple had a fight. The culture is welcoming but observant—quietly connected beneath the surface.
For someone like Peter, staying a few weeks in an Airbnb, the island offers both isolation and recognition. The landscape feels like a threshold to somewhere else—emptiness, space, wind, and a constant sense of standing at the edge of the Atlantic. At the same time, cafés, bikes, and expat-owned houses echo the international world he comes from. La Graciosa becomes the perfect gateway: a place where escape, nature, and the global nomad community intersect just enough to make the island feel neutral, porous, and ready to open the door into another reality.
In the second half of March 2020, a global viral outbreak brought Spain into a strict national lockdown. Under the emergency decree of 14/15 March, all residents and visitors were required to stay indoors except for essential activities such as buying food or medicine, and public spaces and beaches were closed. Movement between islands was heavily reduced, and while official records do not specify whether the La Graciosa ferry was halted, travel was tightly controlled and strongly discouraged. Given the island’s exposure to the Atlantic and its reputation for sudden monster waves on the Órzola–Caleta del Sebo route, temporary service interruptions during rough weather were common even before the pandemic. It is therefore entirely plausible that, during this period of national restriction and unpredictable sea conditions, La Graciosa became effectively isolated, leaving those on the island confined to their dwellings with only limited opportunity for solitary walks in the surrounding nature.

# Ksall’i
## Species - [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] ✅
[[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] are a humanoid species on [[Etral'han💭]], living on the continent of [[Ksall'han]]. In terms of [[Element X ✅]], their brains differ from human brains in four specific ways:
- **The Intuition Lobe:** A specialized extension of the medial prefrontal cortex and temporal social-processing areas, fused into a fast, holistic “social intuition module.” Ksall’i instantly feel what the socially correct action is, even when rules are unspoken, ambiguous, or situational. They do not analyze; they sense alignment.
- **Harmonized Reward Circuit:** A highly stable dopamine–norepinephrine regulation loop between prefrontal areas and the ventral striatum that strongly rewards the completion of expected tasks and socially agreed actions—rather than novelty. Ksall’i do not require structure, motivation, or excitement to act; they simply do what the moment calls for, calmly and consistently.
- **Selective Empathy Buffer:** An emotional-gating mechanism in the anterior insula that automatically filters empathic resonance. Ksall’i feel deep empathy for individuals who are socially in tune but only muted, distant, or neutral emotions toward those who fall out of sync.
- **Dreamfield Suppression Network:** A dampening system on the Default Mode Network (DMN), reducing spontaneous inner-world activity, fantasy, daydreaming, and imaginative drift. Ksall’i experience a quiet, uncluttered inner space and do not crave novelty or imaginative escape; their minds remain anchored in the present social moment, stabilizing their harmony-driven culture.
**In short:** Their brains are optimized for intuitive social alignment and the completion of what is expected. Selective empathy shields them from the emotional strain of interacting with non-aligned individuals, and the dreamfield suppression network prevents boredom and destabilizing imaginative wanderings.
> [!tip] idea to explore
> Maybe the brain differences can translate into something more tangible, at least in the [[Nadlee'i]]? E.g. a level of magic they can perceive and/or manipulate?
^c470c7
As a consequence, all [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] subcultures are quite harmonious and peaceful within themselves, but they struggle to deal with cross-cultural interaction. In most subcultures, this challenge is mostly avoided by values around “stick to your own crowd” and a strong preference for regional and task-field separation of groups and subcultures. However, in some subcultures, e.g., the [[Thirak’arin]], there is a more restrictive and aggressive set of values, prioritizing the elimination of deviant behaviors and groups at the expense of harmony. For the overall continent culture, the tendency to solve conflicts via separation and polite distance prevails. You don’t get into each other’s business.
Biologically, this is reflected in the development of scales, giving them a slightly reptile-like look—but with a humanoid body structure. The coloring of these scales is highly important, with each community valuing specific colors and patterns and dismissing parents who happen to have deviating offspring.
Politically, this is reflected in the strong bloodline and family-tree aspect of the political system. Local communities are typically governed by one ruling family, and almost all members of the community are in some way or another kin. In this aspect, the [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] societies resemble a tribal society.
However, this is not the full story. As [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] are extremely productive and harmonious, they will, over time, develop strong expertise and competence in the respective area they are focusing on—something other communities might need. Also, from time to time, the concept of separation will not remain stable as, for example, single communities grow beyond their assigned habitat. And finally, as in all tribal societies, they face the problem of inbreeding, making the exchange of mating partners necessary.
To solve these problems, the [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] rely on other pillars of social order:
1. **The [[Salivar Convent]]:**
To facilitate negotiation and peaceful agreement between communities and subcultures, the convent assembles delegates and leaders from all regions, families, and factions in a deliberation assembly. This convent is quite uncomfortable for [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] because they cannot rely on their usual intuitive sense for what is appropriate. Therefore, it is highly formalized, extremely polite, distant, and ritual-heavy to avoid open conflict. To make things more complex, there’s a layered culture of social roles, traditions, and conflict smoothing mechanisms that selectively allow bending and deviating from the rules that must seem extremely confusing for anyone not introduced. As a consequence, delegates are taking the role for decades, the convent is slow in decision-making, favors consensus over conflict, and historically developed a pattern of being more veto power than shaping power. While individual Ksall’i communities and factions rarely rely on written law, the Salivar Convent is the opposite: it is run based on a complex, extremely detailed, and carefully balanced traditional document that outlines rules of procedure in a casuistic way—the [[Salivar Code]].
2. **The trade faction [[House Lethan’arin|Lethan'arin]]:**
To facilitate the exchange of goods without requiring intense interaction with people from other subcultures, the [[House Lethan’arin|Lethan'arin]] family established a dense network of trading routes and markets across the continent, giving them a special position in the empire. On the one hand, they possess more intercultural knowledge and interest than any other family or community, naturally valuing novelty and diversity more than usual. This makes them natural candidates for cross-community leadership—they have the connections, the logistics, and the ability to tolerate differences. Due to trade, they are also extremely wealthy and have access to resources other communities can only dream of. On the other hand, they are carefully monitored by all other Ksall’i and remain under constant suspicion of breaking continental harmony. As a consequence, they are powerful—but their power is fragile beneath the surface, making them highly pressured to uphold a perfect [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]]-like image of the family.
3. **The central research entity and knowledge repository [[Thirak’arin]]:**
As generation, accumulation, interpretation, and storage of knowledge are, by definition, activities that benefit from intercultural exchange, these tasks are handled by the specialized subculture of the [[Thirak’arin]]. Located high in the [[Thalan’oruun]], the [[Thirakon]] fortress–university–library is run by a monastery-like order. To control the power of this institution, they are not allowed to reproduce; instead, every family and community is expected to send their brightest minds to this place of learning, research, and technological ingenuity. While the [[Salivar Convent]] solves the intercultural conflict problem via the detailed [[Salivar Code|Code]], the [[Thirak’arin]] use religion to manage the potential negative effects of social divergence, making them the most fanatic and devoted followers of [[Thaksir]], with a long-term agenda to shift [[Ksall'han]] to a monotheistic belief system, abolishing the historical worship of [[Thaksir]] and his counterpart [[Kaiuree ✅]] as keepers of balance. While they welcome members from both [[Thalan'sir]] and [[Hal’thalan]] Arins, they formally belong to [[Thalan'sir]] and ask former [[Hal’thalan]] to formally disconnect from their families.
4. **The engineering and infrastructure clans of the [[Silparin’i]]:**
As every aspect of continental logistics, construction, and mechanical craft requires extremely precise alignment and long-term continuity, these tasks are entrusted to a federation of hereditary clans (“Arin’i” in [[Etral'han💭|Etral'han]]) known collectively as the **Silparin’i**. Each clan specializes in one foundational domain of engineering—mining, metallurgy, atmospheric measurement, long-distance transport, structural tension, water systems, machinery, or preservation. Their knowledge is transmitted exclusively within bloodlines, preserved through ritualized apprenticeship and exact imitation rather than innovation. While formally subordinate to the [[Salivar Convent]], the Silparin’i form a powerful consultative body whose expert approval is required for nearly all large-scale decisions. Without their cooperation, no new trade route can open, no infrastructure can be maintained, and no intercommunity agreements can be enacted. Their influence is silent but pervasive: they rarely seek overt political power, yet their ability to grant or withhold technical support gives them de facto veto capacity. This creates a delicate web of dependency—most notably for the [[House Lethan’arin|Lethan’arin]]—and forces leading families to uphold flawless social alignment to avoid subtle but devastating sanctions such as slowed repairs, restricted transport, or withheld maintenance.
5. A complex **love-hate relationship with [[Nadlee'han💭|Nadlee’han]]:** [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] elders and scholars know that without [[Species - Magox’i✅]] inspiration and [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]] knowledge, they would be doomed to absolute stagnation - and at least some of them understand that innovation can be needed and helpful. However, every contact with [[Nadlee'i]] feels uncomfortable and disturbing, and is seen as potentially dangerous for people, especially the young. Every [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] subculture has developed their own set of strategies, myths, and social mechanics to deal with this relationship: Some integrate [[Nadlee'han💭]] visits into rites de passage, framing it as dangerous adventure and proof of character. Some [[Arins]] outsource [[Nadlee'han💭]] visits to others, relying on indirect transition of ideas and knowledge via books or traded goods. Some used the religious connection to [[Kaiur'naos]] and the [[Jezz'ir]] plant to justify pilgrim to the island. Some historically integrated individual [[Nadlee'i]] into their own culture, as teachers, servants, artists, or slaves, however, this practice died out with less and less [[Nadlee'i]] willing to spend time in [[Ksall'han]] after the [[TBD Traumatic historical event that made Nadlee'i avoid Ksall'han at all costs]] and the [[TBD Formal Acceptance of Nadlee'i as non tradable semi-persons with basic rights by the Salivar Convent]] which made enslavement virtually impossible. As a consequence, modern [[Ksall'han]] lacks innovation and inspiration, a subtle but increasingly impactful change that underpins the [[TBD looming political, economical, and social crisis that defines the age]]
Further details on the Ksall’i subcultures will be developed in later stages.
### Culture Group: [[Thalan'sir]]
The cultures living north of [[Thalan’oruun]], large, technologically developed, more rational and devoted to [[Thaksir]] only. Seen as living “in the view of [[Thaksir]]” as the god is imagined to look north. High adherance to the written word, low interest or motivation to travel or explore. Cultures are usually patriarchial, some matriarchial, but always with a clear division of gender roles.
#### Subculture: [[Thirak’arin]]
The knowledge and devotion order of [[Thaksir]], forming an academic and spiritual elite and the only Arin that is not based on kinship, but choice. Able to see into what’s happening in [[Hal’thalan]] from the cave windows of [[Thirakon]] in the steepest cliffs of the [[Thalan’oruun]], the “back of [[Thaksir]]”
#### Subculture: [[Silparin’i]]
The cluster of technology and engineering focused Arins, represented by the Silparin’i Counsil to the [[Salivar Convent]]. Ideologically flexible, but with enormous veto power based on access to technology.
#### Subculture: Other [[Thalan'sir]]
Mostly [[Silparin’i]], dependent on nutrition from [[Hal’thalan]].
### Culture Group: [[Hal’thalan]]
The cultures living south of [[Thalan’oruun]], smaller, technologically less advanced, more devoted to agriculture and fishing as well as trade, more emotional and diverse, devoted to the divine duality of [[Thaksir]] and [[Kaiuree ✅]]. High adherance to spoken word and music, a certain level of interest and tradition to travel and explore (for [[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall'i]] standards). Cultures are neither patriarchial nor matriarchial, but dyadarchial (from Dyadarchy, i.e., rule of the two gender diade), so Arins are governed by bigender couples.
#### Subculture: [[House Lethan’arin|Lethan'arin]]
Wealthiest and most powerful Arin of [[Hal’thalan]], headed by [[Peschbels Parents]], living on the family estate of [[Lethan’naos]]. Traditionally, the leaders of [[House Lethan’arin|Lethan'arin]] coordinate and oversee the activites of the [[Salivar Convent]], making them the de facto rulers of [[Ksall'han]], but with their power massively limited by the complex system of checks and balances.
#### Subculture: Other [[Hal’thalan]]
### Intercultural Culture: [[Sallivar]]

Next, we move on to the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno’i]]

# Abyssno’i
## Species - [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]]
The [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]]are a humanoid species on [[Nadlee'han💭]] whose cognition is shaped by a species-wide evolution toward monotropic focus, precision reasoning, and deep emotional resonance. Their brains differ from [[Species - Humans ✅]] in four defining ways:
- **The Monotropic Loop**: A greatly expanded and hyper-connected monotropic network (linking the anterior insula, dorsal attention system, and parietal cortex) creates intense, interest based focus. Each Abyssno’i forms a lifelong [[Eidet'elu✅|Special Interest]], called [[Eidet'elu✅]] —an intellectual identity that guides their learning, expertise, and purpose. They sustain these with great endurance, intensity, and detail orientation and achieve unmatched mastery within their chosen domain.
- **The Precision Reasoning Cortex**: Enhanced development of fronto-parietal reasoning areas supports highly detailed, logical, and literal information processing. Abyssno’i argue with exactness, favor explicit truth over implication, and excel at deep analysis and system reconstruction. Their communication style prioritizes clarity and verifiability, often at the expense of social nuance.
- **The Emotional Resonance Core**: A strengthened amygdala–hippocampal complex produces rich emotional experience, vivid affect, and enduring emotional [[memory]]. Abyssno’i are deeply emotionally empathetic and form powerful, lifelong emotional bonds. Their sensitivity, however, can lead to overwhelm when emotional intensity collides with cognitive rigidity.
- **The Cognitive Empathy Gap**: Reduced integration between the temporo-parietal junction and prefrontal social-inference networks limits their ability to intuit complex motives or detect hidden agendas. They tend to assume honesty, take statements at face value, and may be easily exploited by more socially strategic species. Once deception is recognized, however, their emotional loyalty can shift abruptly and decisively.
**In short**: Abyssno’i combine intense monotropic focus and precise logical reasoning with deep emotional empathy and a limited capacity to infer hidden motives and cope with sensory overstimulation. They are brilliant, principled, loyal—and profoundly vulnerable to manipulation.
As a consequence, Abyssno’i culture is centered around deep expertise and intense personal bonds. It’s also highly vulnerable to stress and sensory overwhelm, and suffers from, sometimes contemptuous, disregard of basic survival needs like provision of food, shelter, and physical protection.
These aspects of brain evolution have also made their footprint in the perceptive system of the Abyssno’i: They have a visual perception of [[Thoughts]] and reasonings as well as emotional resonnance, interweaving their perception of the material environment with an extra layer. While this can be extremely helpful, e.g, because they can literraly see lines of conflicts, breaks in logical argumentation etc., this can also be a liability for two reasons:
1. **Risk of overwhelm**: The additional layers of perception make the Abyssno’i brain sensitive to overwhelm, resulting in either a Shutdown and/or a Meltdown, depending on character and circumstances.
2. **Risk of overconfidence:** The visual competence to see [[Thoughts]] and emotions is highly selective, depending on the monotropic focus of the individual. So while they are extremely capable of identifying and understanding situational aspects and patterns of reasoning that align with their [[Eidet'elu✅]], they can be hyposensitive or even outright ignorant of aspects and phenomena outside of their [[Eidet'elu✅]], leading to blind spots in awareness and challenges to accept aspects of reality that they don’t see as relevant.
Physically, Abyssno’i look relatively similar to [[Species - Humans ✅|Humans]], but with a bigger variety in physical shapes and sizes - they come from tiny to giant, from super slim to extremely fat, from unfit to the extreme of mobility impariments to exageratedly muscular and fit. They all share some peculiarites in their sensory organs - slightly bigger and sligtly pointed ears, slightly bigger eyes with a larger and more colorful iris and pupil, large and flexible lips, tongue, and noses, and a soft, very receptive skin, that visually reacts to external stimuly with rushes of barely visible colorful and sometimes even glowing patterns. As they are quite selective [[About Me and My Work]] sensory input, they prefer to live with as few clothes as possible. Whenever possible, they are naked - as they don’t know shame around bodies at all -, if they need clothes for protection, warmth, or out of respect for negative feelings of other species, they will chose soft, easy to wear clothes like simple, kaftan-like [[Fara✅]], or loincloth-like [[Foor✅]]
Abyssno’i tend to live as loners, or in small but deeply connected couples or one on one friendships. Most [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] are either disinterested in sexual relationships or on the opposite side of the spectrum, seeking all forms of physical intimacy, flirting, and sexuality as part of their passions and interests. This has major consequences for the way children are conceived and raised: As [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] couldn’t rely on natural desire to stabilize procreation, they have evolved a separation of sexual pleasure and biological procreation. When they are having sex, they are actually sterile, not needing birth control. Their desire to procreate has shifted into another area, combining with their emotional resonance core: They feel immense pleasure from the idea of giving birth to new individuals, and therefore love to engage in procreation with individuals they feel emotionally drawn to. However, this is not done via sex in the conventional sense; instead, when emotionally attuned, they can exchange germ cells with their entire skin. As this is a reciprocal process, the difference between male and female has eroded over time. Thus, [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] have a far richer gender spectrum than [[Species - Humans ✅|Humans]], and almost all [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] can both conveive children and help others to do so. On the social side, they have developed a rich diversity of gender identities, with some individuals ignoring any gendered expression at all, and others playfully combining male, female, and other traits to colorful and individualistic forms of gender expression. For simplicity, they use they/them pronouns across the whole species. It’s important to note that this didn’t lead to an unrecongnizable blend of gender neutrality - the opposite is true. Both physically and socially, we find the whole spectrum of gender expressions in all nuances and variations; and seeking the exact resonance in partners can be a topic of intense conversation, deliberation, and confusion in the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] culture.
WIth this multitude of gender expressions and resulting forms of relationships - often involving complex multi individual networks of layered relationships -, the concept of familiy has also evolved into the idea of a chosen family independent of bloodlines. Children are taken care of collectively, sometimes in complex arrangements that will be deliberated endlessly (but usually peacefully) in the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] culture. Biological parenthood is relatively unimportant, and many [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] will form bonds early on with other adults who share their [[Elu'varin✅]], or happen to be partners to their biological parents. As a consequence, they do not feel the need to further nurish parent relationships after the age of 7-8 if there isn’t a personal interest in each other. When [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] grow up, they need to go through an intense process of self-discovery called [[Elu'varin✅]]. During this phase, an [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] explores their emotional inclinations, their relational patterns, their gender expression, and the unique contours of their monotropic mind. It is considered neither a [[scrybble/Test]] nor a transformation in the strict sense, but an *unfolding* — the revelation of a coherent identity that has been present in latent form since early childhood.
The concept of [[Elu'varin✅]] with the meaning of unfolding of what’s at the core is also used in other contexts, of the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] culture, e.g., it is used to describe the process of purification of [[Relation’in✅]] to [[Jezzirion'in]].
Abyssno’i have a special relationship to the [[Species - Magox’i✅]] , as they share the same habitat - the island of [[Nadlee'han💭]]. The relationship between Abyssno’i and [[Species - Magox’i✅]] and their joint [[Connection]] to [[Nadlee'han💭]] can be considered a spoiler, although it does not directly contribute to the resolution of the core story of the book. Reading it will not give a ways secretes [[About Me and My Work]] how the story ends and how major conflicts are resolved, however, it will substantially reduce suspense that comes from [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]] discovering the mechanics of the world he stranded in. If you do not want to read this, jump [[Cultures and species ✅#Species Magox'i|here]]
> [!warning]- Mild Spoiler
> [[Species - Magox’i✅]] and [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]] developed a relationship that could be described as antagonistic symbiosis with seasonal role reversal. In the season of Thyssi’en, the [[Species - Magox’i✅]] effectively enslave the Abyssno’i, exploiting their naivety and their difficulty securing nutrition, housing, and physical protection. During this phase, the [[Species - Magox’i✅]] use (and at times abuse) them as service providers for the visiting [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]], who bring essential resources to the island. The [[Species - Magox’i✅]] become the rulers of [[Nadlee'han💭]], running the city, the business, the [[Nostri’con]], and the [[Lupag’on]], where the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssnoi]] have to work as waiters, sex-workers, story-tellers, cleaning staff, and, if they are lucky, as knowlege guides in the [[Eidet'naos ✅|Eidet’naos]]. They also typically serve as easy pseudo-friends and sexual partners for the [[Species - Magox’i✅]] who want to prevent the overpopulation from their unstoppable fertility.
>
> In the season of [[Flor’een]], this dynamic reverses. The Abyssno’i — supported by the magic of [[Nadlee'han💭]] — govern the island, while the [[Species - Magox’i✅]] collapse into a state of bare survival, called [[Inermors’sigil]]: a trance-like, depressive torpor in which they lie immobile, experience disturbing dreams, and become physically heavy to the point of hardly being able to move. Because they are barely conscious in this state, [[Species - Magox’i✅]] culture is unaware of what happens to them during [[Flor’een]]. When they awaken at the beginning of [[Thysi’een]] they simply assume they had a bad night’s sleep and are confused about why they have grown slim, unfit, and forgetful. In [[Flor’een]], [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] mostly ignore [[Species - Magox’i✅]] , simply transporting them to central places and tending to them only for basic survival. In this process, a lot of [[Species - Magox’i✅]] goods and posessions are thrown into caves, dumps, and other hiding places on the island, creating the [[Thesacur’an]].
>
> In the broader perspective, the Abyssno’i seem to “benefit” more, as they consciously rule during their season while the [[Species - Magox’i✅]] remain oblivious to theirs. Yet [[Thysi’een]] is extremely hard for the Abyssno’i, and the [[Species - Magox’i✅]] also profit: without the Abyssno’i, they would be unable to attract the [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] visitors they depend on for survival.
>
> Socially, the relationship between [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] and [[Species - Magox’i✅]] is superficial. In [[Thysi’een]], [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno’i]] either disappear in niche roles of little interest for the [[Species - Magox’i✅]], e.g., guiding visitors in the [[Eidet'naos ✅]], but also routine work like accounting. Or, if they happen to serve in a customer facing role, they will put on a deliberately made up role, their [[Kso'varin ✅]]. Often, one [[Species - Magox’i✅]] will be surrounded by several [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]], working for it, but also providing social recognition, sexual intimacy, and the illusion of friendship or even love. [[Species - Magox’i✅]] will often perceive this made up behavior as genuinely interested in them, nurturing their false believe to have deep relationships and love with their assigned [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno’i]] - while in reality, The individual behind the [[Kso'varin ✅]] will often have neutral or even dismissive feelings for “their” [[Species - Magox’i✅]]. However, there are exceptions, and in rare cases - like for [[Xandro ✅|Xandro]] and [[1 • Projects/P • Das Buch/Floflake 01.0 - Act Level Draft - 2026-04/Lou|Lou]], they develop a genuine friendship based on mutual understanding and love.
>
> The [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] are the only species who is aware of the [[Relation’in✅|Relation'in]] cycle and the physics of the island. As the knowledge is considered dangerous, the related [[Eidet'naos ✅]] is disguised as specializing on the process of [[Elu'varin✅]] - preventing most [[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall'i]] from showing any interest. A part from the generally research focused monotropic mind, the reason for this is that Abyssno’i can actually visually perceive the R-field. They can not directly manipulate it, however, they have discovered various ways to use r-matter and physical processes to store, transport, and purify it, using e.g. the [[Jezz'ir]] plant for the process of [[Elu'varin✅]]. This practice, that is basically a form of engineering, seems magical for [[Species - Magox’i✅]], [[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall'i]] and humans due to lack of deeper understanding of the matter.
>
> Religion and spirituality in [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssnoi]] is defined by their monotropic brain and their deep empathy and loyalty. They do not ‘believe’ in stories and myths, as they know, that anything they can’t explain has probably just not been researched yet. In that sense, they do not share the strong spiritual faith of the other species. However, they do know that the [[Kaiur'naos]] and the [[Jezz'ir]] plant are special places - after all, they can visually see the special state of [[Relation’in✅]] there, they can perceive the difference between normal and [[Relation’in✅|r-matter]] - and at the same time, they see the spiritual perspective that [[Species - Magox’i✅]] and [[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall'i]] have on these places. So they do value the holy place, the plants, and, to a certain extent, the books around the [[Kaiuree ✅|Kaiuree]] religion - but more in a mix of research, philosophical reflection, and sensual pleaure. They do not believe that [[Thaksir]] exists, as they have ancient records from the time before they stopped visiting [[Ksall'han]] that report that there’s no special [[Relation’in✅]] field around the [[Thalan’oruun]]. In their mythology, the [[Kaiuree ✅|Kaiuree]] represents a special, perhaps even holy place and, in the ancient texts talking about this, this symbol is associated with knowledge, wisdom, and [[Eidet'elu✅]]. They believe that the orally told narratives about the [[Kaiuree ✅|Kaiuree]] are simple stories that less intelligent species tell each other to explain complex phenomena. However, they do share the idea with the [[Species - Magox’i✅]] that there is a [[TBD Book to Heal The World]]. For them, they do not think of it as a magical or religious text, but as a very concrete text that provides ancient knowledge, written by an [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] with an [[Eidet'elu✅]] around deep physics and metaphysics of the world that will contain concrete recommendations on what to do if the world should be in a majore [[Relation’in✅]] imbalance that the island of [[Nadlee'han💭|Nadlee’han]] seems not to be able to cope with and that threatens their existence.

# Elu’varin
## **Elu’varin — The Rite of Self-Unfolding**
**Elu’varin** is the profound self-discovery process every [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]] undergo as they transition from early youth into autonomous adulthood. The word carries the dual meaning of *“bringing forth what already lives within”* and *“surfacing one’s true resonance.”*
During this phase, an [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]] explores their emotional inclinations, their relational patterns, their gender expression, and the unique contours of their monotropic mind. It is considered neither a test nor a transformation in the strict sense, but an *unfolding* — the revelation of a coherent identity that has been present in latent form since early childhood.
Elu’varin often involves deep introspective work, extended conversations within chosen family networks, and gentle community witnessing. Once completed, the individual presents their affirmed identity, preferences, and relational boundaries to their kin-circle, marking their entry into full social autonomy.
In a figurative sense, the concept of Elu’varin is also used for other contexts to describe the cental concept of unfolding and purification, e.g., in the [[Science and Magic 💭]] around [[Relation’in✅]], in politial deliberation, and religious practices like the search for a unique, personal connection to the [[Kaiuree ✅|Kaiuree]].

# Magox’i
The [[Species - Magox’i✅]] a humanoid species on [[Nadlee'han💭]]. The mainly live in the city of [[Nadlee’sh]] and in the [[Abyssno’sh✅]] areas close to the city, mostly in tree houses or in rooms or appartments in their [[Lupag’on]]. Their brains are shaped by an evolutionary specialization for **impulsivity, emotional amplitude, social vitality, and novelty-seeking**. In particalar, there are 4 specific neuro specificities:
**1. The Ekstio-Dopaminergic Resonance System**: A merged reward–motivation circuit that combines irregular dopamine–norepinephrine surges with sensitivity to turbulent Relation’in (Ekstion’in). Motivation comes in pulses, not a steady flow. Impulsivity, creativity, emotional swings, and sensuality ignite instantly. Ekstion’in amplifies these pulses, making Magox’i vibrant, seductive, energetic, and nearly unstoppable during Thyssi’en. Long-term planning is weak; the present moment dominates. **In short:** their nervous system runs on *emotional electricity* and relational turbulence.
**2. The Flickerband Attention Network**: A highly dynamic attention system marked by unstable prefrontal–parietal regulation. Their attention “flickers” rapidly between stimuli. They excel in scanning crowds, sensing emotional shifts, improvising, performing, and hosting. Forgetfulness, disorganization, and unfinished tasks are side effects of this design, though Magox’i remain only partially aware of their own inconsistency. Their intuitive communication style makes them charismatic, seductive, and persuasive — even when they don’t fully understand what they promised five minutes earlier. **In short:** their perception is a *dance of impressions*, not a focused beam.
**3. The Social Radiance Network**: A hypertrophied limbic–prefrontal reward loop that makes social interaction itself intoxicating. Making someone laugh, welcoming strangers, flirting, performing — all release intense reward signals. They read emotional atmospheres instinctively, even when they miss details or forget context. Warmth, charm, persuasion, and dominance all come naturally; intention matters less than the *feeling* of connection. This system is also why they make perfect hosts, callers, entertainers, marketers, and house-leaders. However, they are also hypersensitive to rejection, conflict, or tension, and can easily turn aggressive, grumpy, sad, or any other type of emotional reaction to even small negative social signals **In short:** connection hits them like a drug - and they radiate it outward. And as with all drugs - going on cold turkey turns them crazy.
**4. The Volari Memory-Dampening System**: An adaptive mechanism linking the hippocampus, amygdala, and R-resonant circuits that softens or erases difficult emotional memories. Pain, shame, fear, obligation, conflict fade rapidly. They often forget promises, logistics, tasks, or lessons learned — not out of neglect, but because their brain releases anything that carries friction. This maintains their optimism and emotional buoyancy but makes them easily manipulated, chronically disorganized, and unaware of recurring harm. During Flor’een, when Ekstion’in collapses, this system overcompensates: identity blurs, motivation sinks, and they fall into [[Inermors’sigil]], the heavy torpor state. **In short:** they remember joy and connection — but pain dissolves like mist. As a consequence, they think of themselves as rather forgetful.
Physically, they have evolved:
- An elastic, highly muscular body, similar to a mix of gorilla and gibbon, but with much less hair
- A (compared to [[Species - Humans ✅|Humans]]) enlarged face with exagerated facial features, radiating strong and clearly visible facial expressions. In some individuals, this even includes coloring marks that emphasize emotional expressions, looking a bit like full body makeup and/or tatoos - with a wide individual variation of form, size, and color. These are called [[Mago'namen]] and light up depending on the [[Relation’in✅|r-field]]
- A suprisingly inviting body ordour, able to adjust pheronoms to the preferences of other individuals, making them perfectly seductive even for members of other species
Simiarily to the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]], they have evolved a big variety of body shapes, sizes, and specific face colorings, and a richly ornamental and diverse fashion sense that consists of a big mix of types of clothes and fabrics. However, in difference to the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]], the variation is not individual by individual, but rather follows quickly changing fashions and subgroup affiliations. They also sometimes use clothing to express social status, e.g., [[Lupag’on]] leaders and other high status individuals using heavy coats and extravagant cuts to manipulate their silouette. Clothes are mainly designed by [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] and produced in manufactures by [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]].
While [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] can’t perceive the [[Relation’in✅]] field, they do have an excellent sensitivity for the resulting physical and emotional states. As a consequence, they have developed cultural mechanisms that indirectly change the [[Relation’in✅|r-field]], but they do not understand why they work. As a proxy for [[Conforion'in]] states, they use the presence of visitors, the excitement of others towards messages and stories, and the offering of money. As these stimuli make them feel anticipative and excited, they will themselves change the [[Relation’in✅|r-field]] to [[Ekstion'in]], perceivable indirectly as strong joy, excitement, passion, and ability to push through. Regarding [[Jezzirion'in]], it’s the opposite. In small amounts, it causes them to feel boredom, annoyance, and activates their volari system, i.e., they become increasingly forgetfull. When exposed to pure [[Jezzirion'in]], as in the [[Flor’een]], they go into [[Inermors’sigil]] - loosing all conscious attention, feeling intense negative distress, and perceiving their body as extremely heavy and basically impossible to move.
In [[Thysi’een]], this perception system allows them to intuitively sense the needs, desires, and interest of their [[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall'i]] visitors and allows them to create events, interactions, meals, and shows that attract and bind them, puring in money and [[Conforion'in]] into [[Nadlee'han💭|Nadlee’han]], and activates enormous energies and ability to make things possible.
There’s also a specific ability and resulting technology that they have developed based on their neurological specificities: The [[Nostri’con]], which is basically a [[Relation’in✅]] based type of social and broadcasting network that spans the entire continent of [[Ksall'han]] and the island of [[Nadlee'han💭|Nadlee’han]]. At it’s core, it’s an information transmission network based on the [[Relation’in✅|r-field]]. However, as neither [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] nor [[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall'i]] can directly perceive or influence that, the [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] employed [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] with an [[Eidet'elu✅]] around [[Relation’in✅|r-field]] communication to create sending and receiving appliances that allow [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] to entertain over distance and [[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall’i]] to watch and enjoy these products. The system functions like a mix between broadcasting and social network: Only [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] can actually send content into the network (as this requires [[Ekstion'in]]), but any species can react, comment, and discuss content (as this can be done with any type of [[Relation’in✅]]). Physically, the senders and receivers of this network are small appliances people wear on their arm-wrist that look a bit like magical smart watches (they are called [[Nostri'catsh]]). The [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] use this mainly to promote the wonders of [[Nadlee’sh]] and attract new customers with beautiful visuals, exciting shows, interesting music, and mysterious [[Eidet'naos ✅|Eidet’naos]] knowledge to discover. The content broadcasted can be text, video, audio, touch, and smell; however, they do not produce any fictional story formats.
When [[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall'i]] are organized in large clan like [[Arins]] and [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] live in individually chosen networks of likeminded individuals, [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]]‘s society is build upon small families and loosely organized groups, clubs, friendship circles, and projects. Families will usually share one tree-house until youngsters move out and venture into the world, joining a club or society, and living a relatively loose social life until they become parents. Then, for a limited time, they will form a new small familiy that dissolves again when children are old engough to venture. With their natural hosting abilites and charisma, they find it easy to form new bonds - but with their forgetfulness, they also find it quite easy to leave them.
As impulsivity and forgetfulness make conflicts likely, the social life of [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] can be quite turbulent and include feudes, violoence, and intrigues. However, they never hold for long, and new bonds are made quickly go cover up old wounds. This also translates into their sexual behavior, being very promisque and intense, but not intimate. [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] love to bond physically, and they do so for a lot of purposes including attracting customers. In [[Thysi’een]], they will also expect [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] to do the same, sometimes resulting in toxic structures like [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] doing sex-work for a [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] leader against their preferences. They are quite oblivious to moral codices and pruderie of other species, however, they can become quite passionate about specific rituals and fashions around physical intimacy and create short lived sets of rules that are then quickly abondoned or forgotten.
Almost all [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] are pansexual, not only across genders, but also across species, and change their sexual preferenes several times over their life. As a consequence, gender differences have eroded, and almost all individuals are non-binary with a mix of masculine and feminine features (Which is different to the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] who have a very wide range of identities and gender expressions). Physically, that means that [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] have a penis and a vagina like receptive organ, and can mate with all other individuals. As overpopulation was a threat, they are not very fertile, resulting in around 2-4 children per couple.
The [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] culture is very “thing” heavy. They love clothes, decoration, technological gadets, and any other items of possession, resulting in spaces to be cluttered and overwhelming. In [[Flor’een]], the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] will get rid of most of these things in the [[Thesacur’an]] that have a mythological importance for the [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]]. As they do forget about the loss of these things, from their persepctive, [[Thesacur’an]] are magical gifts from the [[Kaiuree ✅]] who noursishes and supports them with everything they desire. At the age of 14, every [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] is expected to venture in a quest for a [[Thesacur’an]] called [[Thesacu’varin]] - and once they find it, the ingredients of this will form their identity, determine their profession, and even their social bonds as they go on this journey alone, but form groups and bonds over the time of the search and so usually discover a [[Thesacur’an]] in that group. The [[Thesacu’varin]] will be repeated across life as a reaction to every major life or identity crisis including the [[Inermors’sigil]].
With their naturally nurturing and care-taking dominance, [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] are usually quite generous, protective, and jovial parents, leaders, and hosts. However, they do not really perceive when they hurt other’s boundaries; mostly because of the volary system and the respective lack of cognitive empathy towards trauma and pain - they believe every pain can be overcome. As a consequence, they can also be quite harsh, dominating, manipulative, or outright forceful to get their will, resulting in the almost enslaving relationship with the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]], that gets only outbalanced by their forgetfulness and the intellectual dominance of the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]], who can easily manipulate the [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] into forgetting their own rules and structures. [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] typically think of these relationship of friendship, buddies, or even partnership, and are pretty unaware of the actual distance the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] keep up.
[[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] live in a world of wonder, suprise, and child-like excitement. They believe the [[Kaiuree ✅|Kaiuree]] to be the creator and originator of all this, and are passionate believers in their powers. However, as writing and reading are not really important in their culture (in fact, many [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] are almost analphabets, just using the bare minimum of reading and writing to communicate with the other species), the mythology around the [[Kaiuree ✅|Kaiuree]] is quite dynamic, with topics, creation myths, and resulting interpretations of the world changing often. As they do forget about [[Inermors’sigil]] and [[Flor’een]] very quickly, each event feels like an apocalypse for them, that they interpret usually (depending on the respective social dynamics) as either a tantrum or a health problem of the [[Kaiuree ✅|Kaiuree]]. When they awake, they are quick to make up covering narratives, interpreting the phase as sleep and basically just “reinventing” their world and a signal to go on a collective [[Thesacu’varin]]. They do not know that the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] play an important role in their cultural stability, as they will teach them the basic aspects of their own [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] culture in the first months of [[Thysi’een]].
And I think, with that, the [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] are sufficiently described for this level of world building, yey :-)

> [!danger]- Major Spoilers
> #### Culture group: System admins💭
> The “System admins” are a special type of being in the world of [[!🧭 Buchprojekte • 1.10 Das Buch, das die Welt gesund macht - Konzept]]. As [[Etral'han]] is a world that is created in the consciousness of [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]], with the [[Kaiur'naos|Kaiur’naos]] as the central unit, the [[Kaiuree ✅]] is the only system admin in the world of the book. However, as we assume that all conscious beings have a brain, they also all have system admins.
>
> System admins are not real in the sense of having an own personality and world. They are actually just patterns in the human brain, regulating the multi-connected network of neurons, brain cells, etc. However, when [[Species - Humans ✅|Humans]] actually enter the brain via their consciousness world - there’s no direct path - they need to appear in some recognizable form to make the interaction and communication possible. They usually materialize as a member of the conscious species, but, as in Peter’s case, this is not a must and there are evolutionairy variations of this.
>
> System admins are created genetically, and so with the development of their conscious being’s brain, they already have access to a wide range of knowledge and insight that is further enriched by every sensory input, every learning, every thought and every emotion that the conscious being ever experiences. As they do not forget anything, this results in a Kassandra like state - knowing much, much more than what they can translate into action.
>
> But - at the beginning it’s only propositional and tacit knowledge without own consciousness. The actual conciousness of the system admin develops together with the brain’s consciousness; but - with their inability to forget - somewhat faster, but also more rule based as the one of their “host”.
>
> Their ability to act and intervene is massively limited, as the brain in it’s complexity does never follow a singular ruler and they can not directly create thoughts, movements, or any other activity of the brain they live in.
>
> However, they are not complete powerless - they do have the ability to regulate the [[Relation’in✅|Relation'in]] field to a certain degree via the means of the [[Cervézard]]: If they are safely enclosed in their [[Habi’zard]], the [[Relation’in✅]] circle will flow as designed. If they release the [[Habi’zard]], they will fill the brain with impulsive and animalistic emotions like fear, hunger, lust, or rage. As a consequence, [[Ekstion'in]] will increase across [[Etral'han]], making [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] first thrive, but depleting the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]] and [[Nadlee'han💭|Nadlee’han]] of necessary minimum amounts of [[Jezzirion'in]], causing the owner of their brain to become more receptive to strong emotions, rejection, story, addiction, alcohol, or the like. They can also intervene in the opposite direction, catching [[Cervézard]] and putting them back in the [[Habi’zard]], pushing their host to more rational and hyperfocused thinking and behavior that sends [[Nadlee'han💭|Nadlee’han]] into [[Thysi’een]], but limiting their hosts ability to perceive and follow basic needs.
> Both mechanisms are dangerous, as they can trigger unforseeable reactions of the host brain, and, in the worst case, lead to a viscious cycle resulting either in loss of controll and depression, addicition, or other mental conditions associated with moodieness, impulsivity, and stress; or they can overpower the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅|Abyssno'i]], resulting in the respective human turning into compulsive, catatonic, or hyper-rational states and the respective mental health problems (e.g., OCD, extreme regidity)

### Culture Group: Gods💭
There are 2 gods in [[Etral'han]]: [[Thaksir]] and [[Kaiuree ✅|Kaiuree]].
[[Thaksir]] is a god, similar to gods in the human world - a narrative figure, created from tradition and holy texts. He’s associated with the mountains of [[Thalan’oruun]]. He’s male, associated with light, rationality, and structure, and is seen as a rather rule based and at times punishing god. The exact ascriptions vary from culture to culture.
He’s accepted and believed in by all [[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall'i]] cultures, but with different interpretations and belief systems around him. Some [[Species - Magox’i✅|Magox'i]] accept Thaksir as a metaphysical being or even god, but he’s not part of their core belief system.
The [[Thaksir]] scriptum is a loose collection of rules, reflections, and poems. It does not contain any stories about the god other than the accounts on the creation of the world. Unfortunately, the 2 main creation myths differ - while the first one, the one adhered to by the [[Thirak’arin]] and most [[Thalan'sir]] arins is based on a monotheistic belief where the world came into being based on [[Thaksir]]‘s will - and will alone; the second one, more popular and important in the [[Hal’thalan]] cultures, is based on the idea that [[Thaksir]] and [[Kaiuree ✅|Kaiuree]] were once a couple that gave birth to the world of [[Etral'han]]. As a consequence, [[Thalan'sir]] religion is highly sceptical of any evolutionairy ideas, while [[Hal’thalan]] religion believes in the evolution, change, and diversity.
> [!danger]- Major Spoilers
> The [[Kaiuree ✅|Kaiuree]] is different: She’s actually real. However, in reality, she’s not a god, but the system admin of [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]]‘s brain, called the [[Kaiuree'naos]] in [[Etral'han]]. More detail here: [[Kaiuree ✅|Kaiuree]]

[[Cervézard]] activity in the human brain causes strong and impulsive animalistic emotions and detoriates the ability of the human brian to self-regulate.

## [[Relation’in✅|Relation'in]] Magic
> [!danger]- Major Spoiler
> ### A Treatise on Relation’in and the Coherence of Nadlee’han
>
> *By NN, [[Eidet'naos ✅]] of [[Jezz'ir]]*
> #### 1. On the Existence of [[Relation’in✅]]
>
> All systems in our world consist of three interwoven strata:
> matter, energy, and Relation’in.
>
> Matter shapes form.
> Energy shapes motion.
> Relation’in shapes coherence — the degree to which a system’s parts stand in ordered connection with one another.
>
> To beings unfamiliar with [[Nadlee'han💭|Nadlee’han]], Relation’in is often mistaken for sensation or magic, but this is a category error.
> Relation’in is neither emotion nor symbol.
> It is a field, measurable in principle, though not yet by continental instruments, that arises wherever entities, forces, or events become connected.
>
> Every bond, whether biological, cognitive, or spatial, generates a localized pattern within the R-field.
> The quality of these patterns determines whether a system thrives or collapses.
>
> #### 2. On the Three States of Relation’in
>
> Through long observation, the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]] have identified three fundamental states:
>
> ##### 1. Raw Relation’in, also called [[Conforion'in]]
> High in amplitude, chaotic in structure.
> It forms around beings who carry numerous unresolved, conflicting, or shifting relational threads.
> It is abundant among visitors from Ksall’han.
>
>
> ##### 2. Turbulent Relation’in, also called [[Ekstion'in]]
> This state emerges when too many raw R-signatures accumulate.
> The field becomes noisy, unstable, difficult to parse.
> Nadlee’han can tolerate turbulence only for a limited span.
>
>
> ##### 3. Coherent Relation’in, also called [[Jezzirion'in]]
> Highly ordered, phase-stable, low-entropy R.
> Required for the stability of the island and the survival of the Abyssno’i.
> Achieved only through systematic purification.
>
>
>
> These states are not moral categories.
> They are physical configurations of the relational field.
>
> #### 3. On the Nature of Nadlee’han as R-Matter
>
> Unlike the continental landmasses, [[Nadlee'han💭|Nadlee’han]] is composed not of classical matter alone but of matter infused with a high-density [[Relation’in✅|r-field]], producing what scholars classify as R-matter.
>
> [[Relation’in✅|r-matter]] has three distinguishing properties:
>
> It is self-organizing, maintaining structural coherence through internal R-resonance.
>
> It is semi-permeable, allowing [[Relation’in✅]] to enter, but resisting chaotic penetration beyond a threshold.
>
> It is seasonally adaptive, altering its field configuration in response to global R-flux.
>
>
> Thus, the island behaves not as an inert geological object but as a relational ecosystem, responding dynamically to the patterns of those who enter its domain.
>
> #### 4. On the Cycles of Thysi’een and Flor’een
>
> ##### [[Thysi’een]] — The Season of Overflow
>
> During Thysi’een, the R-field of Nadlee’han opens.
> Visitors arrive bearing Raw Relation’in.
> The [[Species - Magox’i✅]], whose biology is adapted to consume amplitude rather than coherence, flourish during this time.
> Their systems metabolize the turbulence as vitality.
>
> The [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]], in contrast, expend enormous quantities of internal R to maintain cognitive and emotional stability.
> Their monotropy is disrupted by excessive flux, and their purification capacity collapses.
> The island, deprived of coherent R input, begins to drift toward structural fragility.
>
> ##### [[Flor’een]] — The Season Coherencence
>
> When turbulence exceeds the tolerable limit, Nadlee’han undergoes a phase transition.
> The island generates a protective shell of highly ordered Relation’in, restricting further influx.
> This resembles a sudden shift from one thermodynamic state to another — an event continental scholars might liken to a superconductive phase boundary.
>
> During Flor’een, the Abyssno’i regain their clarity.
> We withdraw into deep focus, performing the purification work that transforms accumulated turbulence into Coherent Relation’in.
> The island is restored.
> The Magox’i enter a lethargic state, deprived of the amplitude they require.
>
> These cycles form the heartbeat of Nadlee’han.
>
>
> #### 5. On the Purification of Relation’in
>
> Purification is neither ritual performance nor moral judgment.
> It is a reordering of patterns within the R-field.
>
> Raw R carries many overlapping signatures — memories, attachments, hopes, fears, contradictions.
> When too many such signatures accumulate, the field loses coherence.
>
> Abyssno’i cognition, shaped over generations, is optimized for recognizing pattern truth: the deep structure beneath noise.
> Through focused work — often involving the plant Jezz’ir, which amplifies the resonance of coherent R — we disentangle R-patterns, stabilize their phases, and convert them into a usable form.
>
> This work sustains both our species and the island itself.
>
>
> #### 6. On the Exchange with Ksall’han
>
> The continent is a region of R-field scarcity and turbulence.
> Its civilizations generate immense quantities of Raw Relation’in through constant conflict, desire, and broken connection.
>
> Nadlee’han relies upon this influx.
> The Magox’i attract it.
> The Abyssno’i purify it.
> Purified R then radiates outward, subtly stabilizing relational fields across the world.
>
> Thus, the survival of the island and the balance of the continent are interdependent.
>
>
> #### 7. On the Significance of Relation’in
>
> Relation’in is the substrate upon which all meaning, connection, and coherence rest.
> Where it is strong, systems flourish.
> Where it collapses, entropy accelerates.
> If it were ever lost entirely, the world would not fall apart violently — it would simply cease to cohere.
>
> #### 8. On the Necessity of Balance Within Relation’in
>
> It must be emphasized that Relation’in does not seek stasis but dynamic balance. The field exists in three principal regimes — Raw, Ekstatic, and Coherent — and none of these can sustain the world in isolation. Should the field drift entirely into Raw Relation’in, the world would persist yet cease to evolve, trapped in an endless haze of unshaped potential. Were Ekstation’in to dominate, the amplitude would rise beyond tolerable limits, and all structures—material and relational—would burn in overwhelming novelty. And if Coherent Relation’in prevailed without interruption, the world would harden into perfect pattern: flawless, motionless, unable to adapt. Thus Nadlee’han, and indeed all of Etral’han, survives through the interplay of these states. Thysi’een introduces movement and turbulence; Flor’een restores clarity and form. Between these extremes, the world keeps its shape not by stillness, but by continuously rediscovering equilibrium.
>
> Nadlee’han teaches us that connection is not a metaphor.
> It is physics.
>
> #### Post Scriptum
> I feel obliged to remind the reader that this knowledge is dangerous and cannot be entrusted to anyone unable to access and thrive on [[Jezzirion'in]]. While I do believe that knowledge is a vital resource and the truth should be available to everyone, even [[Species - Magox’i✅]] and [[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall'i]], we need to be protective of beings unable to cope with the truth in order not to disturb the global balance.
> Should this knowledge ever fall into the hands of [[Species - Magox’i✅]], it would be contaminated with [[Ekstion'in]], leading to unforseeable chaos and a destruction of first Nadlee’han, then the whole of Etral’han.
> Should this knowledge fall into the hands of [[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall'i]], they would depurify it with their [[Conforion'in]], sending [[Nadlee'han💭]] to an endless sleep and also killing [[Etral'han💭|Etral’han]] , but slower.
> And, this is a case I almost do not dare to mention: should ever someone from outside [[Etral'han💭]] - and we don’t know it these exist, but the legends the [[Kaiuree ✅|Kaiuree]] warn us from these visitors, the [[Species - Humans ✅|Salv'alli]], get in touch with this knowledge, we can’t even think of what’s going to happen. Because [[Species - Humans ✅|Salv'alli]] crave [[Relation’in✅]] in a way that’s out of any balance. They would literally devour our very source of [[Jezzirion'in]], the fruits of the [[Jezz'ir]] plant, transforming the R-field into profane, energy based matter. This would allow them to move between worlds, meet the [[Kaiuree ✅]] in person - and not only destroy, but cancel out [[Etral'han💭]] in the process. We wouldn’t even die - we would stop existing. Any [[Species - Humans ✅|Salv'alli]] that gets this knowledge needs to die immediately.

> ### A Physicist’s Commentary on the Abyssno’i Tractate
>
> Although this tractate describes a fictional world, many of its ideas echo real concepts in modern physics. The notion of Relation’in as a field that exists not inside objects but between them closely resembles several serious theories. In quantum physics, for example, particles do not exist in isolation—what matters is the relationship between them: how they are entangled, how they interact, and how information flows across the system. In certain interpretations of quantum gravity and relational quantum mechanics, the universe is not made of “things,” but of relations. The idea that coherence can be high or low, and that noise can degrade the stability of a system, is also very similar to real discussions in information theory and thermodynamics, where structure decays unless energy—or information—is constantly supplied.
>
> The tractate’s description of Nadlee’han as “R-matter” also has a real-world analogue: in physics, there exist exotic phases of matter that behave differently depending on the underlying fields that stabilize them—superconductors, condensates, and even hypothetical dark-matter structures. The seasonal shifts between Thysi’een and Flor’een resemble phase transitions, where a system abruptly reorganizes itself when a threshold of disorder or energy is crossed. Finally, the purification of Relation’in parallels the way quantum systems lose coherence through interaction with their environment and must be carefully “de-noised” to function. None of these parallels are literal, but the tractate’s framework is a remarkably accurate metaphor for the frontier areas of physics: a universe where connection, coherence, and information are just as fundamental as matter and energy.
>
> From a physics standpoint, this fictional system closely resembles how complex fields behave in nonlinear dynamics. A relational field that can exist in “raw,” “coherent,” and “high-amplitude” states mirrors real concepts such as phase transitions, entropy gradients, and the balance between order and chaos in self-organizing systems. No physical field in our universe is conserved as a fixed quantity; instead, its configuration depends on the interaction of its sources, just as Relation’in depends on the quality of connections in the world. The idea that pure coherence would lead to stasis, excessive turbulence to breakdown, and raw unformed structure to stagnation reflects a deep truth from complexity science: living systems persist only at the shifting boundary between stability and instability. In that sense, the fictional mechanics of Nadlee’han echo real principles from thermodynamics and information theory, while transforming them into an emotionally meaningful cosmology.

## Book Walking Magical System - Core Premise
While [[Element X ✅|Element X]] translates into different species and the physics of [[Relation’in✅|Relation'in]] in [[Etral'han💭|Etral’han]], it’s a different matter in [[Allist'han✅]] (the “real” world).
The differentiation of people - and the associated cultural, economical, and social consequences - do not translate into species or ethnicities, but
entering books is not rare or miraculous.
What is rare—and dangerous—is **staying**.
Book walking is a known but deeply misunderstood phenomenon that shapes culture, power, and silence.
---
### 1. Book Walkers
- Some people are **book walkers**, others are not.
- Book walking is **inheritable**.
- It exists on a **spectrum**, not as a binary trait.
- Each book walker experiences book walking **highly individually**:
- which books they can enter
- how entry happens
- how long they can stay
- what risks arise
---
### 2. Social Analogy (Neurodivergence Model)
Book walking functions socially like neurodivergence:
- Some book walkers are celebrated as **talented** (arts, science, innovation).
- Others are labeled **disabled**, unstable, or dangerous.
- Many hide their abilities to avoid stigma.
- The same underlying trait is split ideologically into:
- “gifted book walkers” vs.
- “broken book walkers”
This split is **false** but culturally dominant.
---
### 3. Ideology & Power
- Society rewards **productive dissociation**:
- book walking that generates value is praised
- book walking that produces vulnerability is pathologized
- There is a strong cultural myth that “talent” and “disability” are different phenomena.
- This myth supports exclusion, hierarchy, and silence.
---
### 4. Medical & Cultural Discourse
- From roughly the 1980s–2010s, book walking is framed by a biased, reductionist medical discourse.
- This discourse emphasizes control, normalization, and suppression.
- More recent perspectives are:
- more accurate
- more relational
- but still marginalized and stigmatized
- There is **no reliable authority** that fully understands book walking.
---
### 5. Training, Language, and Risk
- Book walking without **language, mirrors, and relational support** is dangerous.
- Untrained book walkers risk:
- burnout
- dissociation
- loss of self-reference
- addiction to books
- Some develop harmful traits as coping strategies (e.g. control, grandiosity).
The danger is **not imagination**, but **isolation**.
---
### 6. What Books Are
- Books are **not locations**.
- A book is a **relational space** between a mind and meaning.
- No two people experience the same book in the same way.
Implication:
- Entering another person’s book means entering *their relation to meaning*, not just a shared world.
---
### 7. Staying
- Visiting a book is common.
- **Staying too long is taboo and feared.**
Folk belief (not necessarily fully true):
- You don’t die in books.
- You **dissolve**:
- memory erosion
- loss of relational anchors
- inability to return
People who stay too long are often said to be “lost.”
---
### 8. Entering Another Person’s Book
- Following someone into **their** book is:
- highly dangerous
- often considered impossible
- socially taboo
- Many disappearances are associated with this act.
- Peter believes he can do this—**and that belief is one of his core mistakes**.
---
### 9. Thematic Function
The magic system externalizes the core theme:
> Love is not earned through readiness or mastery.
> It becomes possible through presence and relation.
- Society teaches mastery.
- Book walking punishes isolation.
- Healing comes through shared stories, witnesses, and connection.

Procedure to disconnect a [[Species - Humans ✅|Humans]] from [[Allist'han✅]] safely by connecting it to an [[Etral'han]] individual permamently. The procedure consists of 3 ritualistic steps:
- Disconnecting with a physical ritual of pain (that exposes the human to extreme amounts of [[Ekstion'in]])
- Resetting with an emotional ritual of caretaking and meditation (that exposes the human to [[Conforion'in]])
- Reconnecting with a ritual of intimacy (that exposes the human to [[Jezzirion'in]])
As this has never been tested before, it seems to be dangerous to perform this. What is known is that without that ritual, every [[Species - Humans ✅|Salv'alli]] returns into their world within a short time span of some minutes to hours.

# C. Plot
So for plot, I’ve got a bit of method chaos on my head. From [[Jessica Brody]], I know how to structure plot. From [[Lisa Cron]], I know how to build plot based on character. And from [[N. K. Jemisin]], I’ve learned to create plot based on the [[Element X ✅]] of the world.
After the [[03 - Schreibkrise]], I know that my plot queen is [[Jessica Brody]], so I’ll give here the lead in how to structure this. However, I need to do some adjustments to integrate what I learned from the others.
The core idea of [[Lisa Cron]] is that plot needs to connect to the “[[third rail]]
So with this, we get to:
[[Third Rail Basics - What if, desire, and misbelief ✅]]
[[Five things we know about the plot ✅]]“, i.e. the protagonist’s inner struggle between deepest desire (which informes goals, motivations, and adds pressure and ticking clocks) and fundamental misbelief (which shapes the worldview based on fears, avoidance etc.). She also insists that there needs to be a clear cause and effect relationship between all elements of the novel. In other words, we need to ask why for everything - and the “why” chain needs to connect everything to this fundamental element. Also, she insists on specifics, stating that if we can’t see it with eyes closed, there’s no story.
To accommodate for this, I’ll add the following adjustments to [[Jessica Brody]]‘s approach:
1. **Level 1** - Before brainstorming, we need to define the basics of the third rail, which on this level are a high level “what if” and a general first idea of desire and misbelief. Also, we need to ask “why?” for the brainstorm result
2. **Level 2** - Before defining the acts, we need to define the overreaching story problem (capable of driving the external story in an escalating arch including a ticking clock AND capable of fundamentally challenging the misbelief in the process). And we need to go through her exercise on understanding the “0th Act”, i.e. the chain from origin of the misbelief to the start of the novel. Also, we need to tie the acts back to the third rail by asking why.
3. **Level 3** - When defining foundational beats, we need to tie them back to the third rail and make sure there’s no way out for the protagonist
4. **Level 4** - Before creating a beat sheet, we need to decide whether we want to do this at all or whether we trust [[Lisa Cron]] in stating that we can’t know the exact beats because we need to develop a tight cause and effect chain based on the third rail and cause and effect.
5. **Level 5** - Lisa would probably disasvise to do the detailed outline. However, we might do it with high level scene cards.
[[N. K. Jemisin]] has a much more pantser style approach to plot, using much simpler 3 step arcs and adding in a deeper understanding of character maturation and trauma healing, and insisting that [[Power dynamics inkl gender class race identity 💭]] Influence plot a great deal. While I find her approach extremely inspiring, I don’t want to follow it too closely because I trust my own experience and intuition to mirror my personal internal model of these aspects. # Third Rail Basics - What If, Desire, and Misbelief 💭
So, let’s try to do this quickly - and with a lot of fun - in order to avoid the deep trauma confusion crisis we had when last trying to pin this down.
So the basic spark, the basic inspiration for all I am doing here was the moment when I found out that I am [[!🧭 Unmasking|AuDHD]] at the age of 45. More specifically, it was the mix of finally understanding myself, the feeling of being robed of an appropriate concept to understand my experiences up to that point, the grief about lost opportunities, the rage and fury about missing supports, and about the massive gaslighting that had happened, both by some seriously manipulative individuals and institutions that were toxic for myself, but also the entire reality I grew up in. Which included my own, internalized abelism.
Now, with the switch to a protagonist who is not me, I got specifically intersted in the idea of masking and unmasking and how this interacts with connection.
At the end, it all boils down to an interaction of these concepts:
1. Mind shapes reality - and an AuDHD mind shapes an AuDHD reality
2. Connection really, really matters - and AuDHD, especially autism, has the potential to disconnect
3. To overcome the inherent lonelyness of being autistic (or, more universally speaking, of being uniquely you and understanding that not one other person in the world will truely understand you, ever), we need to take a step of acceptance - and of moving on. Like RuPaul said: If it’s all an illusion (here - theh idea of connection based on existential understanding), then you can as well have fun with it (here - take the courage to tell your authentic story, and trust that this is engough)
So my point is: Connection really matters - and it does not come from similarity, it comes from trusting that telling your own story and listening to that of others is enough. **We don’t need to understand each other in order to feel connected - because on a fundamental level, we’re all one.**
Based on this, I want to send a highly masking guy who constantly tries to prove himself worthy of connection into a situation where he fails in these efforts so fundamentally that he has to face the truth - that he’s never going to fit the picture, but that he’s worthy of connection anyway.
So I guess my “What if” is something like: What if a guy who tried all his life to prove himself as worthy of connection, desperately trying to build a home, a community, and a safe harbor where he doesn’t need to prove himself any more is disconnected from everything that matters (his girlfriend, his audience, his chance of building a family). Left with nothing else than himself, he falls into a world that is a representation of his own consioucsness, and in this world, the pattern repeats - to prove himself worth of connection, he tries to save the world from destruction and disconnect. And what if he fails a last time, leaving him no other escape than the truth - that he will never be able to prove himself worthy of connection. And it’s only in this moment of ultimate failure that he dares for the first time to just be. And discovers, that openly telling the story of his perceived unworthyness is what bears the potential to finally come close to what he was looking for: Connection.
So, based on this, I’d say that his fundamental desire is connection, to be loved. This will result in his goal - to build a home for his girlfriend and a family on his own. And I’d say his fundamental misbelief is that you need to be able to give others what they need in order to be worthy of connection. That he’s not enough to be loved if he doesn’t perform.
I think that’s already quite strong. Lisa would probably argue that it’s not specific enough, but I’ll skip this critizism because I know I have a quite specific story in mind that I just don’t want to detail here to avoid getting lost in details.
**So to boil it down, the third rail will be the conflict between the desire to be connected, to have a family and a home - and the misbelief that you need to proof your worth in order to get this, and that he has not yet proven his worth.**
With this, we can move on to the next step, which is [[Five things we know about the plot ✅]]

# Five Things We Know about the Plot 💭
## 1. Lockdown on [[La Graciosa]]
During the early 2020 COVID lockdown, Peter becomes unexpectedly trapped on La Graciosa after losing his phone on the ferry. As Spain enters strict stay-at-home orders, he suddenly finds himself isolated in an Airbnb with no means of communication, unable to contact Kathy after their fight, and overwhelmed by the rapid collapse of normality. The island feels tense and claustrophobic: beaches closed, helicopters patrolling, movement heavily restricted. His panic, loneliness, and sensory overload escalate quickly, leaving him desperate for distraction or escape. With no other reading material, he reluctantly reaches for the copy of The Neverending Story that a local girl gave him the night before lockdown began. (See video here: [Ab Samstag 23.1. noch mehr Restriktionen für Lanza...](https://lanzarote-nachrichten.com/ab-samstag-23-1-noch-mehr-restriktionen-fuer-lanzarote-la-graciosa/))
Within a few days, the combination of emotional spiraling, confinement, and fear pushes him to flee the apartment at night, taking alcohol and the book to one of the remote beaches to hide from patrols. There, exhausted, drunk, and overstimulated, he reads the book he has always avoided.
> [!danger]- Major Spoiler
>
> A rising Atlantic swell, darkness, and his fragile state culminate in a near-drowning accident that leaves him slipping into unconsciousness. This moment becomes the threshold between worlds: in real life he is found barely alive and later enters a coma, while in the internal narrative he crosses into [[Etral'han💭|Etral’han]] — the world of his own mind trying to heal, confront, and transform him.
## 2. The Fatal Knowledge and Peter’s Impossible Choice
> [!danger]- Major Spoiler
> In the second act, Peter gradually (and unintentionally) gains fragments of forbidden knowledge about the true physics of Relation’in and the ecological balance of Nadlee’han (the quest for the book leads to different pieces of lore containing this knowledge, based on the [[Science and Magic 💭#^c20810|Tractate]]). The Abyssno’i keep this knowledge secret because any outsider who fully understands it becomes an existential threat to the world: knowing how Relation’in works means knowing how to destroy or destabilize the world itself, and knowing how to use this to travel between worlds.
>
> When the friends travel to the continent to search for “the book that heals the world,” they slowly realize that what they are actually searching for is a scattered, disguised version of the [[Species - Abyssno’i ✅]] [[Science and Magic 💭|Tractate]] — a text containing the principles that govern R-field balance. Once the island enters shutdown mode at the midpoint, the Abyssno’i fear Peter may have acquired too much of this knowledge and attempt to kill him to protect Nadlee’han. [[Godrin ✅]] intervenes and saves him, forcing [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]] into a flight-and-survival arc without understanding why he is being hunted.
>
> In the All Is Lost beat, Peter finally uncovers the truth: using [[Jezz'ir]] and what he has learned, he *can* return to the real world [[Allist'han✅]]— but doing so will collapse [[Etral'han💭]] entirely. In that moment he realizes he is going to become a father and believes he must choose love for his child over the world where he finally found belonging. He destroys Etral’han for his child and, with the help of the [[Kaiuree ✅|Kaiuree]], tries to return to the real world, only to discover there, he is in a coma and powerless. So with the hope of at least telling his story and this somehow reaching his children, he decides to go back to [[Nadlee'han💭]].
>
> This tragedy becomes the emotional core of his Dark Night of the Soul. Later he will learn that the [[Kaiuree'naos]] can “reboot” the world, giving him a second chance — one he will ultimately use through storytelling itself, the missing generative force that the fantasy world has never known. [[TBD A means to transport a story between worlds that Peter can use to send his story to his child]]
I decided that I will not continue the high level brainstorm because I already have hundreds of concrete ideas. So I need more structure - why I will continue with [[The 3 Acts ✒️]]

# The 3 Acts
> [!warning] Mild to major spoilers
> Obviously, constructing the story has a lot of spoilers. I will flag out hard ones, i.e. the final resolution. However, reading this might take away from the joy of reading the final novel because you’ll know a lot of backstory before the reader is supposed to know it
## The Story Worthy Hero
It’s clear that [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]] is the hero of the story, so his character arc will structure the novel.
To develop a more specific idea of how that happens, we need to remind ourselves of the core story shaping elements of this character.
### Problem (and Underlying flaw)
[[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]] has got a lot of problems:
- He is in an unclear relationship situation - a gay man with a girlfriend and a strong will to become a father
- His mother wants him to take over in her fashion business empire - and is so upset with his rejection that she’s threatening to delete him from her will. She also rented out his little room in Paris until he’s coming back to resume his role as a trainee the company
- His influencer business is forcing him to mask happiness all the time and limits privacy; after a fight with [[Kathy ✅|Kathy]] in a lifestream, he’s got a massive shitstorm going on with his followers accusing him of selfish and patriarchal behavior
- He does not have a home - his mother rejecting him, his girlfriend leaving him, his room rented out
- He does not have real friends as he focused everything on Kathy and his mother, keeping gay contacts at a massive distance
There flaw behind is that he’s trying to feel connected by fulfilling the desires of others: His mother’s will to follow him in the fashion business, Kathy’s desire to not be left for another woman, his followers wishes by keeping up the shiny fassade despite not feeling like it.
With all this, the mother of all problems, the one that pushes him over the edge - is that Kathy is pregnant.
So in short:
> [!error] Peters Problem
> Peter believes he must become “ready” — stable, resolved, complete — before he is worthy of love and fatherhood. Kathy’s pregnancy exposes this belief and sends him into avoidance.
^d561b4
### Goal (and Underlying desire)
We know that Peter’s desire is connection, and more specifically feeling “at home”. This is still pretty broad, and the driver behind a lot of things he does and a lot of wishes and goals he has. But I think the major aspect that will drive the story is that **he wants to become the father he never had.**
Now, for this he needs a lot of things, first and foremost a child. However, we know that this will not do the trick, because then he be a father, but not a **worthy** father (in his skewed world view).
He thinks that a good father needs to fulfill the following criteria:
1. Provide a stable home, i.e. choose a place to live, stay there - at least for 20 years, better forever, and have the financial means to cover the expenses related to this.
2. Provide a stable parent relationship, i.e. commit fully to the mother and form a mature, loving relationship with her
3. Be absolutely sure that he’s mature enough to be there for the child 100% and never ever do anything related to the child out of selfish motives. This one is based on his prior self exploration work with a psychoanalytically trained therapist and his conviction that all his problems have been caused by early childhood trauma imposed by his parents. So he left therapy with the goal in mind to “settle old issues”, to make sure he’s not subconsciously hurting the child out of selfish reasons.
Now, let’s translate these into concrete and actionable goals the beginning of the story:
1. **Win the “[[Freedom Islands Competition]]”** by finishing the work [[Kathy ✅|Kathy]] and he have completed on other islands around the globe on the last island on [[Xavier Guide]]‘s list: “La Graciosa”, promising to win a house - all expenses paid - on an island of their choice. (They are currently leading the competition, so it’s not unlikely that this is going to happen)
2. **Propose to [[Kathy ✅|Kathy]] and get married** (which is a challenge because they both know he’s gay, and to make things worse he’s unsure of [[Kathy ✅]]‘s commitment to their joint plan after she left the island reacting to a fight they had about how to deal with her health; he believes that this will be resolved once he won the house)
3. **Find out why his [[Peter's Father|father]] left and where he went** - he recently got his father’s “I’m going to Fantasia and back” note (after questioning her in the context of therapy, challenging her story that she forbid to read the Never-ending story because she doesn’t want her child to read any magical stuff), he learned that his father was dreaming of the Canary Islands (he found an old Atlas with handwriting in it), and he knows his father was obsessed with Alexander von Humboldt. So he wants to question the locals. He does not believe that reading the neverending story might help in the first place (just fantasy)
So to sum this up:
> [! important] [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]]‘s Goal
> Win the Freedom Island Competition to secure a home, prove he can provide, and uncover the truth about his father before the child is born.
^f44f50
### Need (and Theme)
So now that we know his problem (a premature pregnancy he’s not ready for) and his goal (become ready to be worthy father before the child is born), the question is, what does he need?
And I think it’s simple: he needs
> [! question] Peters need
> Learn that he is worthy of love and connection as he is — and allow himself to receive love without first earning it.
^ee9e4a
So he needs to lean the theme:
> [!summary] Peters Theme
> Love is not earned through readiness or perfection.
It becomes possible through presence.
^c7d8d4
## Act 1 “Winning Everything, but Feels like losing” - Imposter System World
With all this, we know what his act 1 world looks like:
- trying to become ready for fatherhood
- not having a home, being on the escape constantly
- doing things for others
- but also: backing out of confrontation, problems, and failure
- it’s a neverending race, ticking the boxes but feels like losing
I think the core here is: He’s actually accomplished a lot - he has a girlfriend (yes, they had a fight, but hey, they stick together and mostly she accepts him as he is), he will become a father (the pregnancy brings him so close to his desire), he is privileged (there’s always the option to work in his mother’s company), they are leading the competition (that’s hard to achieve). But to him, it feels like a failure.
So this is an imposter world.
## Act 2 - “Loosing Everything, but Feels like winning” - the ‘here I Can Be a hero’ World
So the upside down works needs to be one where this is reversed:
- He is a hero - just by who he is (they need a human)
- There’s a quest that seems possible to master
- He seems to be actually winning!
So that means the break into 2 must be the moment when he takes on the role in saving [[Nadlee'han💭|Nadlee’han]] the others have given him: the missing human and the leader of the pack.
It also means that the midpoint can not be the island shutdown - that would be a false defeat, but we need is a false victory. So the midpoint is when he manages to actually speak in front of the [[Salivar Convent]] - they think they have achieved their goal! Only thereafter, when [[Frat'il]] changes sides and the [[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall'i]] attack, we understand it’s a false one.
## Act 3 - “Being past Winning or Losing - just Being present” - the ‘I’m Human and that’s enough’ World
The synthesis world is beyond winning or losing. It’s just about being.
# The 3 Acts
## Act 1 — Whatever It Takes
Peter, an ambitious travel and fitness influencer, is on the brink of what he believes will finally make him ready: winning the Freedom Island Competition and, with the prize, securing a home where he can marry his girlfriend Kathy and become a father. But when he learns that Kathy is pregnant, the illusion of readiness collapses. Instead of joy, the pregnancy exposes the one unresolved question Peter believes he must answer before he can allow himself to be a parent: what happened to his father, who disappeared before Peter was born.
Following the faint trail his father left behind, Peter travels to the remote island of La Graciosa—and from there, into the fantasy world of Nadlee’han. When he learns that this world is on the brink of extinction, Peter sees a way to solve everything at once. If he can save Nadlee’han, he believes, he will not only uncover the truth about his father but also protect his own children from the danger he associates with unresolved trauma.
Convinced that responsibility requires sacrifice, Peter decides to do whatever it takes. He cuts his magical bond to reality through the Umbil’con, accepting the risk of never returning, believing this is the only way to become worthy—of love, of fatherhood, and of connection at all.

## Act 2 — Saving a World. Almost
Together with Xandro, Lou, and Peschbel, Peter journeys to the continent of Ksall’han in search of the mythical Book That Heals the World. The culture and politics they encounter are complex and hostile, and they soon learn that visitors from Nadlee’han are not welcome. Forced to flee a violent mob, they find temporary refuge at the estate of Peschbel’s parents.
With the help of Frat’il, Peschbel’s cousin, they gain access to the library of Thirak’arin, where they discover that the book may lie hidden within a volcanic caldera—reachable only with the approval of the Salivar Convent. When Peter is finally allowed to speak before the Convent, it feels like a breakthrough: he is listened to, taken seriously, and momentarily validated as a leader and representative of Nadlee’han.
But the victory is false. Frat’il reveals his true intentions, twisting Peter’s words to portray the Nadlee’i as dangerous invaders. Using the Convent session as justification, he calls for a military response. In a pivotal vote, Peschbel’s parents, desperate to preserve their power, side against their own daughter. The Convent refuses aid—and sanctions an attack.
Peter and his companions return to Nadlee’han without a cure, pursued by a fleet of Ksall’i ships. As the attack begins, the island reacts by sealing itself within a protective shell. The group barely makes it inside; Peschbel falls from the ship and is lost outside the barrier.
Inside, Nadlee’han has transformed. Xandro and the Magox’i enter a state of immobility. The Abyssno’i seize control, declaring that the island is now dying faster because of the turmoil Peter helped unleash. Lou is punished for her role in the mission and forced into service as protector of the sacred plant Jezz’ir. Peter is blamed for the catastrophe and sentenced to death.
Godrin, Lou’s brother, intervenes, arguing that Peter may still be essential to finding a solution. Together, they search the island’s great library, the Eidet’naos, for answers. During this time, Peter and Godrin grow close, and Peter experiences connection without performance for the first time in his life.
In the library, they uncover a final possibility: if Peter eats from Jezz’ir, he may be able to meet the goddess Kaiuree, who could help save the island—and perhaps allow him to return to reality. But the price is absolute: the destruction of the world of Nadlee’han.
Believing that understanding and sacrifice are still the path to redemption, Peter chooses to eat the plant.
> [!danger]- Major Spoiler
> He meets Kaiuree, who reveals the truth. His search for his father was always in vain—the world he has been traveling through is a manifestation of his own consciousness. His father was never there to be found. She also tells him that it is already too late: in the real world, Peter is dying in a coma; in Nadlee’han, the world is dying with him. In trying to become worthy of being a father, Peter has destroyed his chance of actually being one.
>
> Given the choice to return to reality unconscious or to remain in Nadlee’han fully aware until the end, Peter chooses Nadlee’han.
>
> ---
>
> ## Act 3 — Being
>
> With no escape and no solution left, Peter and his friends prepare for the end. They stop trying to fix or save and instead spend their remaining time being with one another—present, honest, and connected.
>
> Peter begins to write his story, having learned that stories can sometimes cross between worlds. He hopes that, if nothing else, his child might one day receive an explanation—and a sign of love. When Peter reads the story aloud, something unexpected happens. New connections to other islands open. Benevolent Ksall’i respond. The Relation’in field begins to purify.
>
> It becomes clear that Nadlee’han has never known fictional stories—and that storytelling itself is a form of connection powerful enough to heal the world. Peter teaches the Nadlee’i to write and read, and through shared stories, the island is saved—not through mastery or sacrifice, but through relation.
>
> At peace for the first time, Peter senses that he will wake in the real world the next day.
>
> Years later, Peter, his husband John, Kathy and her husband Vitrou, and their children—the twins Alexandro and Loucia—travel together to La Graciosa before the twins leave home for university. There, Peter gives his children a book he has written, believing they are finally old enough to know the truth.

# This is for You
# 1-001 This Is For You
Dear unborn child,
to be honest, I don’t know how to start this. So please forgive me if this sounds cheesy or chaotic. It’s kind of crazy to write a letter to someone you don’t know, who doesn’t know you, and you’ll never meet.
But I need to write this letter. Because if I don’t, I will have failed you, exactly like my father failed me. No, worse. Because I know more than he ever did. And with knowledge comes power, and with power comes responsibility.
What makes this so hard is: All I ever wanted was to either become a better father to my child than my father was capable of being to me - or not have children at all.
For most of my life, I dedicated my efforts to growing into the person worthy of being a father. Your father.
Unfortunately, you were conceived before I managed to achieve this. Unfortunately, you ended up in exactly the same predicament that I found myself inhappily welcomed by a father who just wasn’t ready.
By the time you read this, I hope you’ll be old enough to know that sometimes, when one doesn’t feel ready to do something, it’s human nature to do something very stupid. We might take on the challenge anyway, talk ourself into the illusion we were more than ready and just needed to pull ourselves together. We might freeze completely, staring at the obvious mission and simply do nothing about it. Or, we might run away and hide.
People who do this are called cowards. And I will not judge you when you call your father what he is: A coward who didn’t have the guts to take on a role he wasn’t ready for.
I will not judge you, because you are right: I am a coward. And when I learned that Kathy was pregnant, I did what cowards do: I ran away.
Unfortunately, I chose an escape route with no return. Of course I didn’t know this at the time. Then, we’re talking 2020, I was under the illusion that what I was doing was the absolute right thing to do.
Please believe me:-I wanted to take on the responsibility to be the father you deserve. I really wanted.
In fact, my escape plan was how I thought I could become a responsible father. Because I didn’t feel completely insufficient. I had done my work. Over the years, I had invested in to the big mission I always knew was the only thing that mattered at all: Becoming a good father.
I had checked almost all items on my list: I had set-up a business, successful enough to provide you with all the material resources you’d need without any need to take bribes from your grandmother. I had chosen a woman I knew would bewill be, I am still certaina loving, organized, well adjusted mother, someone who is able to build a home that you could fill with life. (By the way-never doubt that Kathy is the best mother on earth. I sacrificed a lot to make sure she’d be your mother. There’s noone who could love more, and, most importantly, she has what it takes to translate their love in what a chided needs every day. Something I am really bad at).
I had confronted myself with the parts of my own path that were difficult to talk about. Why six years of psychotherapy were hard, really hard. The only reason why I did them was you. I understood that growing up without a father, with a harsh and judgemental mother (stay away from her, she’s evil), and without a place to call home has hurt me deeply, and that I needed to protect you from the pain that still sits in my soul to break the cycle of intergenerational trauma.
I had read every book on how to raise children with love and care, filled notebook after notebook with insights, and checklists, and dos and don’ts and detailed “fathering” plans for every year until you would be 33 years old. (I stopped there be I felt I couldn’t name what someone older than myself might need from their parents, given they grew up safely). If you want, you can read these notes, you’ll find them in the worn-out leather suitcase I left in the appartment on the Island,
I mastered the art of healthy living steeled my muscles, adhered to by meditation routine, went vegan and clean eating, stopped smoking, quit heavy drinking, used sunscreen, and never missed a check-up or vaccination.
In shortI was ready. There was just
thing missing: i understand whatone 0happend with my father. After all these years, not knowing what happend -and why he left me-was the one thing that kept me from finally giving in to Kathy’s biggest wish.
When I opened my laptop on this noteworthy day - March 20, 2020, I found this email:
`From:
[email protected] T : Peter @weltenwarderev.com Date: March 20,2020 Time: 6:43 pm CET Subject: Sit down before reading`
`Text:`
`Peter, we need to talk. I am`
`pregnant.`
`Kathy.`
If I had known what happened to my father, I would have gladly replied “whenever you’re ready. I am
But I didn’t.
Instead, I did something very stupid.
I decided that I will first solve the mistery - and then get back to her.
And so, instead of answering, I closed the laptop, took a bottle of whiskey, a jacket, a pack of Chips, and put it all into my bag.. Then, I sat in front of the Air BuB, directly at the seafront.
I stared the massive wall of rock on the her side of the passage and listened. The waves were high that evening, as they had been the past days. Then they came.
The helicopter appeared above the cliff before I could hear it. It targeted the north of the island first, up to Playa Montaña Colorada, sniffing and spying down the walks towards Caleta del Sebo. When the loud metallic sound came near from behind me, I went inside, hiding from the guards like prey from a predator, just to peak out as soon as they were south to see them closing their round over Pedro Barba, leaving Graciosa towards Orzola and Arreciffe.
The whole world was panicking at that time - Covid 19 was very new, and we were all afraid to die gasping for air, isolated in an intensive care unit with no chance to say good bye to our loved ones.
But for me, sitting on a deserted island, the protection from the Guardia Civil felt way more threatening than the absurde news I had read on the internet.
Within days, the world had turned into a place of fear, silent like a graveyard, with people locked into their houses with whichever predator lived with them. In my case, it was my own mind.
Its surprising how fast we lumens learn to do what’s needed to be safe. It only took me 5 days to understand that the patrille would come at random times over the whole day, making sure not to produce any predictable pattern people could adjust to and escape the orders.
But Talo knew that in the night, they relied on common sense. Nobody would be so stupid to try to escape their prison in the dark night of an empty, wild island.
And so, when they were gone, I knew they wouldn’t return. I put on my hiking shoes, hurried to gulp down a 1.5 liter water bottle, and then it was time to leave.
I hadn’t dared to even touch if: I hadn’t even entered the small room with the womout co , the saltcovered poster of a sunset, and the wobbly sunbleached little table in front of the sea front window.
Ever since Some had left it there, I had avoided to even think about it.
But now, there was no way back. Because if I wouldn’t find out what happened to my father. If I didn’t understand, why he left me-alone with this iceberg of a mother, lost in traveling from town to town, continent to continent, wherever her damn fashion business would need her. If I wouldn’t finally solve the puzzle of my life. Then I wouldn’t be able to face my mission -to be a better father than he was.
And I knew that the only way to find out was to follow the only trace that I had: To read the book I had avoided to read all my life.
The book that was the only thing he load left me. With a short note, saying the only words I have ever heard from thin directed towards me:
> “My son, the world is broken. You’ll know, I can see in your baby eyes that you sense it -exactly the way I sense it.
>
> knowledge bears responsibility. I know that the world is falling apart. And I know I can heal it.
>
> I don’t know how - but I know that the key is this book. It’s a special book, because it’s different for anybody who reads it. You’ll think I’m mad, but I swear to you it’s true: It’s a magic book. It draws you in, and if you have the courage, it allows you to go to the other side of the rift that is the wound of our world.
>
> Not many people can do that. But I know, I can. And even less people will return. I don’t know if I will.
>
> But I have to try. Because those people who make it to the other side and back - they will heal both worlds.
>
> If you read this, it means I have failed to return.
>
> Perhaps, you can do better.
>
> Love, Dad”
I shivered.
Was I going mad?
But I knew I had to do it.
The moment I touched the dark red cover with the bronce shivering emblem of the two shales, I felt a big weight dropping of my
shoulders.
I was ready for this. You made me ready. Well, to be honest, it also needed same and her parents who had kept the book all these years. And now, Same lad placed it here. And I couldn’t wait any longer. Every day lost was a day less to find my father-or at least his remains -, understand coley all of this happened, find a way to return, heal the worldsand return as the father you deserve.
And so I took the “Neverending story”, put it into my bag, and ventured out into the night without moon.

- Peter writes a letter to his unborn child that he will never meet
- He explains that he made a huge mistake by reacting wrongly to the information that Kathy was pregnant
- He explains his lifelong plan to become ready to be abetter father than he ever had and how the quest to understand what happend to his father is the last mimicry link
- With his child being born in around 8 months, he doesn’t have time anymore to avoid this ③ Consequence
- Peter decides to finally read the book his father has left him with a personal note
② Why is this important?
- Because Peter feels that he’s not ready to be a father
- Because it’s his life goal to be onebut better then his own
- Because he has never actually faced the pain of knowing what happenedand he’s convinced having this knowledge is what’s needed to be ready
- Because his desire to connect and love his child is driving him crazy
- Because his misbelief that he needs to be worthy of being a father before he can become one is preventing him from replying to Kathy What is his insight/shift?
- He understands that the fact that Kathy is pregnant forces him to act upon the one thing he has always avoided: Read the book his father left him
⑤ And so…-
Peter goes to the Beach in order to read the book.
I don’t know you.
You don’t know me.
But…
Well, you might have heard something about me, people tell stories all the time. But you know, people tell a lot of stories. Most of them do not matter.

## Old Version
I can’t do that.
This is harder than I thought. Just had to pause and go for a walk.
Ok, to cry.
Godrin sent me back in. He’s got a point: At least I need to try. There’s nothing left I can do.
So I will try. I promise.
I hate to not keep promises.
To be sure: I do not promise to finish. Neither that it will make any sense or be anyhow meaningful.
But I sincerely promise that I will try.
I mean, to tell you my story.
Because that is the only way I know to show you…
---
Fuck, this is impossible.
Godrin standing behind me now. Yes, I know. Just writing it down. It’s only words, I know.
So here’s the truth.
I don’t know you.
You don’t know me.
But I love you.
---
I love you with all my heart. I love you more than anything, in this world, in your world, in any world. Yes, even more than Godrin.
He says it’s ok. Not sure if it is. Still hard to read his face.
I know I didn’t live up to this sentence. I didn’t manage to …
---
For Kaiuree’s sake.
Let’s do this.
Where do we start?
I’ve got an idea. I’ll start with something simple. And interesting.
Have you ever heard about monster waves?
