# Peschbel > [!warning]+ Orange - Moderate Spoilers Peschbel is a young [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] girl, perhaps 17 years old (if we assume human years, [[TBD age of species]]). She’s the daughter of one of the most powerful families in [[Ksall'han]] ([[TBD social hierarchies and power structure Ksall'han and Nadlee'han]] [[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall’i]]), but she doesn’t even think about following her parents wishes and learn what she’s supposed to learn to become the next generation of [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] Leader. As another B-Story Character (actually, we’ve got quite a lot of them but that’s ok, we want a group of friends to be the B-Story overall), Peschbel has the function of teaching Peter rebellion and emancipation. She’s also needed to demonstrate fearlessness and the courage to risk everything for what matters. And, she teaches him to let go of resources and critically reflecting priviledge. In a way, although she’s definitely the youngest one in the whole cast, she’s kind of the wise mentor, representing a generation of people who challenge the status quo without making it an ego thing. So, what do we know of her? 1. **Peschbel is queer - and deliberately so**. Peschbel has known from very early on that she’s different than the other [[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall'i]]. It started with her not playing with whatever [[Ksall'han]] nobility’s children are supposed to play with, she dresses differently, she listens to different music. Actually, as she’s so young, she hasn’t figured out the details of her queerness yet, but she doesn’t really care, because for her the sheer fact of being different and fighting for the rights of those who are is what matters. However, she grew up in a world where it’s very, very difficult to find out about other points of view, because it’s pretty regulated and conformist. So when she had the opportunity to go to [[Nadlee'han💭]] with her parents, she immediately grasped that this place is different. And while everyone around her just enjoyed the spectacular entertainment, she became curious - she bonded with actual [[Nadlee'i]], she discovered that there’s an [[Eidet'naos ✅]] with emancipatory thinking, she’s devoured the [[Nadlee'han💭]] experience. However, because she comes from outside, she has developed a more reflected and more deliberate perspective on the [[Nadlee'han💭]] culture than the [[Nadlee'i]] themselves, who have never known anything different and just live their “strange” island lifestyle without questioning it. 2. **Peschbel knows how to navigate in [[Ksall'han]] - and is able to make use of this abilites.** So when the [[shamrock]] travels to [[Ksall'han]], she becomes the guide and teacher of the group, connecting with other [[Species - Ksall'i ✅|Ksall'i]], especially her cousin [[Frat'il]], and organizes resources to make it in the strange land. That means that she is very well able to perform her role as the heir to power, and that means that over time she might be torn apart beween her queer identity and group of friends on the one side and her family and her responsibility in [[Ksall'han]] on the other side. 3. **Peschbel will be the first big loss for the friend group when they return to [[Nadlee'han💭]] and drop of the boat**. She gets hit by a giant wave, falls into the water, and then the island shuts down, so that her friends do not know whether she survived and what happened to her. Her story will be unclear for a very long time, > [!danger]- Red – Major Spoiler > …. but I think I do want her to survive. I think what will happen to her is that she will be picked up by one of the attacking boats, and, due to an order of her parents, will be saved and brought back home. As Nadlee’han is no longer available to her, she will be forced to submit to her parents expectations, she simply doesn’t have any alternative. She tries to connect with other likeminded people on the [[Nostri’con]], but as [[Nadlee'han💭]] content dies out, she’s no longer feeling this network represents her values. This is the reason why she starts reading - and while the [[Eidet'naos ✅|Eidet’naos]] of [[Ksall'han]] are not nearly as intersting and exciting as those in [[Nadlee'han💭]], she still finds hidden stories and experiences of marginalized people. And so, while she officially lives the heir life with increasing responsibilites, she also starts a secret side carreer as a writer. This is how she reconnects with [[Nadlee'han💭]] in the end - she’s one of the people who enter the island via a story worth telling. 4. **Here’s what we know of her relationships:** Peschbel’s connection with [[1 • Projects/P • Das Buch/Floflake 01.0 - Act Level Draft - 2026-04/Lou]] is intensive, but not easy. Because of her deep interest and knowledge in emancipatory issues, she doesn’t like the BDSM relationships in the [[Lupag’on]] and the role [[1 • Projects/P • Das Buch/Floflake 01.0 - Act Level Draft - 2026-04/Lou]] is playing in these. So while she’s generally positively excited about Nadlee’han, she’s critical of the [[Lupag’on]]. Actually, her relationship with [[1 • Projects/P • Das Buch/Floflake 01.0 - Act Level Draft - 2026-04/Lou]] starts based on [[Peschbel ✅]] trying to save her from the (perceived) oppression by [[Xandro ✅]]. Over time, she learns the rules of this world and starts to connect with [[1 • Projects/P • Das Buch/Floflake 01.0 - Act Level Draft - 2026-04/Lou]] on a more equal eye level, and they become very close friends. With [[Xandro ✅]], it’s the other way around - as she sees him as the oppressor, she’s very distant and challenging with him, and at a later stage she will need to apologize. She might play an important role in his lonelyness, being the one listening to him, making him aware of his pain. With [[Peter Pankratius Pek|Peter]], it’s different: As she’s naturally curious about foreign culture, the sheer fact that he’s from [[Allist'han✅]] is interesting and promising. So she approaches him with an open mind and lots of curiousity, encouraging him to be more courageous and daring. She will also massively argue in favor of him finding a different relationship with [[Kathy ✅]] as she immediately understands the power dynamics going on between these two. 5. **Her Arc**: Peschbel needs to learn that she can use power to make things better, and that radical opposition is not a viable option in a system like hers. She needs to accept that having the power to change the narrativ is a priviledge, and that she must use her resources to improve the life of others, even if this comes at personal costs. She will also find out that behind the surface, the [[Species - Ksall'i ✅]] are less conformist than she thinks, and learn to love one of her kind. The time is not there to have an openly lesbian couple in power, but the time is there to at least accept a non married woman leading - and accepting that she has lovers of her chosing.
